Does this mean he's getting the meniscus transplant?

Nope. It was decided he wasn't a good candidate for meniscal transplant.

I still find it interesting in the other thread that they only mentioned him being only bone-on-bone in the left knee.

We'll see what happens. I'm sure it'll help in the short-term I suppose.

To have all these surgeries (on both knees) can't be a good thing, but at least they've come to some kind of 'solution' -- if you call it that. Hopefully he can return healthy, or just show glimpses of the old B-Roy -- even if it's in limited doses. Can't be any worse than what we saw from him.

I would love to know how this will help the meniscus.

It won't help the meniscus, but cleaning up the knee may reduce inflammation and let him play with less pain. This isn't a cure. Just an attempt to give Brandon a bit longer of a career.

I thought I read somewhere this mornig that it wouldn't help. The only thing it will do is relieve some of the pain he is having.

Well better than sitting around wishing the problem away. Maybe it will be able to get him back out there.

One thing to think about is the name of a surgery. Remember folks Arthrocopic surgery isn't always about repair. Arthroscopic surgery is exploratory so they can look in there and see what is going on directly instead of using images. There have been many times in the past, where a player was having pain in their knee, and imaging wasn't showing anything. But when they did a arthrocopic surgery, they found something (bone chip, etc) and corrected it. It's not all about cutting for the sake of cutting.
