I heard the segment. Vance said he was SPECULATING that Allen is more interested in the Seahawks now. He said its just his guess.

This is why Mixim is a reason I would leave this board. He is disingenuous and waste's everyone's time.

But they weren't basically the same team. I am watching this very closely. If the NBA becomes a bunch of teams set up to fail so a few superstar teams run the league, it might be time for me to stop watching basketball.

    I think Mixum's a loser and all.

But, Kenny Vance is about as credible a source in the Portland market. The guy has connections far beyond any other local media guys and hasn't burnt any bridges. Back in the Whitsitt days he used to have his personal phone number and would call him up if he needed some info. Dude knows the in's and out's of the NBA and has more connections than ANY Portland media member. He's also not a company guy so he's not rainbows and butterflies all the time.

That said, I'm sure it was pure speculation on his part, if not Mixum fabricating the whole thing.

Given that the Seahawks are in the middle of a play-off run, my response to Vance's statement is "no duh!"

When the NFL season is over, if he ignores the Blazers to take up building bird-houses...then I will worry.

Bringing in Pete Carroll was basically swinging for a homerun.

Bringing in Rich Cho was attempting to bunt a guy over from second to third base.

There may be something in those moves, if you read between the lines.

Building birdhouses on the deck of one of his mega-yachts while a gagle of super-models lounges in binikis.

If he finds that more compelling than the Blazers, then worry. Or, mabye not.

Who is to say Allen losing interest and staying out of the decision making process of the Blazer will hurt the team?

Who would have been your Pete Carroll for Blazer GM this off-season?

How much NFL success did Pete Carroll have before becoming the Seahawks head coach? 33-31 as a head coach in the NFL.

Have you already passed judgment on Rich Cho, even though he was hired after the draft?

I'm primarily looking at the money spent, and the authority given, to each individual. Cho literally had to be led around by Larry Miller to various interviews when he was hired. Miller even answered many of the questions. As far as I know, Carroll has much more authority, a history in both college in the NFL as a winning coach, and isn't being asked to be a Yes Man.

This could also be interpreted as Paul Allen being much MORE interested in the Blazers as well, I suppose, since his GM is basically invisible.
