<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Eyewitness News - Potential lottery pick J.J. Redick was arrested for driving while impaired early Tuesday morning, according to a report by Eyewitness News. According to the police report obtained by Eyewitness News, the arrest occurred at 1:03 a.m. in the 100-block of McQueen Drive in Durham. The police report indicates Redick made an illegal U-turn to avoid a license checkpoint. Redick bonded out of the Durham County Jail around 4 a.m. on a $1000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court in Durham on July 17th</div>Not really a terrible offense, but he also ended up cancelling his workout with the Magic this week. Both could hurt him.
So it wasn't a big offense, but still a very dumb thing to do, especially when we are 2 weeks away from the draft! Hopefully this does end Danny Ainge's "consideration of Redick at 7." Also, that missed workout with Orlando is HUGE in my opinion. That is a team in more need of a 2-guard than anyone else in the league. If he impressed in that workout, he had an oppertunity to be a possible pick at 11.
He's going to have to do some community service, big deal doubt it's even going to effect his career I still think he's going to be a lottery pick. Only thing that's starting to piss me off is all the basketball player arrests, its gonna give the NBA a bad name.
The NBA already has a bad name. To tell youthe truth, I knew nothing of this until I read this post. I doubt it's going to affect him too much
Bad decisons by players like this can hurt these guys in the draft. It might not be a huge offense like Celticballa said, but he should have had more consideration for his future, then a night having some fun getting drunk.
Yeah, his stock has already been on it's way down. This definitely isn't going to help, but I can't imagine it effecting where he gets drafted too much.

Danny Ainge was quoted saying he likes him and has him under consideration at 7 (god, I hope not, we don't need him), and Houston said they are in talks with them at 8. Plus he just cancelled his workout in Orlando. That's terrible. If us and Houston looks at this and says they like somone better (which better players are availabel at 7-8), plus Orlando doesn't take him because he didn't work out - that could diminish any lottery chances.
don't drink and drive. drrr. i bet he felt really dumb when he got arrested. however i don't see how this will affect his chances of being drafted. only by orlando.
Drunk Driving is actually a more serious offense than you people would think it is. It might not seem serious, but think about how many deaths occur each year from people driving under the influence of alcohol. This was a very bad idea, and as has been said, may come back to hurt JJ Redick in this draft. I guess we will just have to wait and see how much he may slip because of this.
I THOUGHT he was mature...guess I was wrong? Anyways, this isnt going to hurt his reputation that badly.

I was kind of surprised to hear this happen because of the person he has been made out to be in his career at Duke, but in the end, although he probably regrets it, I dont think it will affect his draft status or the way teams view him.
That's the truth, between the Lacrosse deal going on, and now Redick drunk driving, that athletic program is having a little bit of problems right now.
No it's not. It's just one part of the program thats having trouble but Duke basketball is having no trouble.
