First, posters should warn when it's a link to a Canzano article. Second I'm glad Rudy is happy. He didn't shoot well tonite, but he has been playing better over all and doing more things than just sitting at the 3 point line.
But does Rudy want to stay because Roy isn't in the lineup? Would he still be happy with much less playing time when Roy returns?
Sinobas: We don't want ya! Seriously, Rudy gets no discussion on how horrible he is. This guy is atrocious. Look at his shooting percentages, and his FORTE' is supposed to be shooting.
Hard to get that excited about a below-average bench player wanting to stay in Portland. It's not like the world is beating down his door to acquire his services. His PER as a rookie was 15, but has languished around 13 for the last season and a half.
Rudy is a streak shooter, who really ought to be shooting better (understatement). But his best asset is that he plays well with others. If Matthews could see the floor, move within a motion offense to keep the defense off-balance, handle the ball, and above all pass it to his teammates the way Rudy does, he'd be an allstar.
Also funny that article isn't quite TRUE!!! Rudy is living in a lease/rental house for a couple of years that a friend of mine owns while out of country for work. He stated that he BOUGHT a house as proof of his desire to stay!?!?!?!
