http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/409...king_pick_swap/ <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>DraftExpress.com - According to DraftExpress.com, the Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Bobcats are talking about a trade where the top pick in the draft goes to Charlotte along with Alvin Williams for the third pick and Brevin Knight. It is being suggested that teams are looking to move up to the top spot to select Adam Morrison.</div> Hmm. I think Charlotte can get Morrison at #3 unless Toronto wants him (which would be a mistake due to there roster). Chicago surely isn't taking him with Deng/Noc/Gordon. But if this trade goes down, it would be very good for Toronto. Sure they wouldn't get #1, but if Charlotte takes Morrison and Ty Thomas and Brandon Roy are the top 2 candidates in Chicago, then Toronto gets there true playmaking PG and still gets Aldridge. Mistake by Charlotte. I mean we all know Knight is drawing interest from a lot of teams and is likely to get traded anyway, but I think they can definitely take Morrison at #3 while still keeping Knight for themselves, or involve him in another trade. Plus, Alvin Williams is comming off inflamation in his right knee, is 32-33 years old, and may not have the juice to be a reliable backup for Felton. Your thoughts?
I agree with you, I don't know about this move for Charlotte, just to get Adam Morrison. If they want him, they may as well stay at three and keep Brevin Knight, rather than bringing in a PG who's career is basically over. However, obviously, if the trade goes down, Toronto is in great shape, getting a solid PG in Knight they're going to be needing with Mike James liekly leaving for bigger money elsewhere and they can still get the guy they want, I'm guessing since they're moving down. Could it be Rudy Gay?
I think this is a stupid move just like you guys. If Charlotte wants to trade up, it shouldn't be to get Adam Morrison. With the position that they are in they could still get him if they wanted, or if he is picked, they could get Rudy Gay or Bargini, both of whom I believe will be better than Morrison.
I'm sure the Bobcats want to start Felton next year and get him rolling, maybe trading Brevin Knight isn't that big of a loss if that means getting their man Morrison at #1. The more I think about it the more I like Charlotte picking Morrison, I don't like the lack of a fast break but Gerald Wallace would take their opponents top scorer anyway. I don't think Gay brings the offense that they desperatly need. If they want Morrison they have to trade to the top spot.

They shouldn't get Morrison with Villanueva (playing out of position, really), Graham, and Peterson. This would move Bosh to a full-time center, something he has already stated he really doesn't want to do. If things to as planned/expected, Toronto selects Aldridge at 1, Chicago selects Thomas or Roy (apparently the 2 they want the most), then Charlotte has there choice of Morrison or Gay at 3. Morrison should be available at #3, and if not, Rudy Gay will be there. They could get other pieces in a package with Brevin Knight included.
I agree with your point CelticBalla, and personally I don't see Alvin playing a big role in Charlotte after all those injuries... but that's just me.
You guys don't seem to understand. If the Bobcats want Morrison they have to trade to the #1 spot because another team could trade up for Toronto's pick.Charlotte could go, 'let's hope Morrison falls to us, nobody in the top 2 spots needs him'...but who knows if the Blazers suddenly trade with Toronto...then Charlotte is screwed out of the player it deperatly wanted.
That's why Bernie Bickerstaff does his job, makes calls around the league, and become sure of everyone's status. If others are in serious talks with Toronto, and this rumor is even true, then yes I agree they have to pull the trigger. But if nobody else is making serious bids with Toronto (and wanting Morrison at #1) then I think with the current draft order it's safe to say Morrison will be there at 3.
