Ugh. Per Twitter: jwquick Jason Quick Bad news Blazers: Center Marcus Camby has a partial tear of his meniscus in left knee. Surgery slated for later this week.
That's too bad, but I'm glad they didn't dick around and let him keep playing on it for awhile thinking that it was just a minor tweak or something. It will be interesting to see if Cho maybe feels a little more pressure to send one of those first round picks of his to New York in exchange for Anthony Randolph ... not that he's going to be capable of fully replacing Camby or even doing half of what he does on the court, but this should once and for all settle the question about whether this is a year to make a hard push for an 8th or 7th seed in the playoffs or just tear it down and rebuild by exchanging the expiring contracts of Miller and Przybilla for some future assets.
sounds like the team should've kept it's trap shut before they made the announcement. They better hope Joel starts to get his game back soon.
Camby has never had knee issues, but he's never exactly been what I would call an iron-man in the NBA. I know it would make more sense to believe that the foul gypsies are behind this latest injury, but that's just not true. The truth is, God is a Laker fan.
So, Six Blazers have had knee surgery within the past year: Oden, Roy, Joel, Pendy, Williams and now Camby? Roy has had three surgeries in the last year, Williams two, Joel one last year then another when he reinjured it, Greg has had three in three years...Roy, Williams and Greg on each knee...my god this is theater of the absurd.
