Thanks for the insight BJM. I figured there had to be a reason why both teams would want him gone. Teams don't just give up on talented, young, big guys for no reason. Just look at Darius Miles. Cleveland moved him for Jeff McInnis and many of us thought he was a steal after his first season here. Then he went into headcase mode, got injured, and the rest is history... Still, I think I'd make the move just because I'd rather take a chance on AR rather than draft another mid-to-late first rounder.
I don't understand what happened to this kid either. Can't get minutes on 2 teams now?. I would think he would fit perfectly with running teams like GS and NY. I think he is worth the chance unless he as a really bad attitude.

He's 21. He could still be a star. I think it's a little early to be congratulating yourself on pegging him as nothing special. That's all. To be clear, I'm not saying he will be a star. Just that acting like he's essentially shown what he's going to be at 21, the age of many rookies, is a bit silly in my opinion. I'll also note that the PER he put up at age 19 and 20 were great for his age and very in keeping with star potential. It's only been this season that has been weak on the court. I don't doubt that he's had some concerning attitude issues, which he'll need to get past...but I think he's shown that he has tremendous potential as far as his play on the court.

I would think he could get a first for Landry Fields. We have a logjam at the spot, but I'd give up the later of our two firsts for him. He could probably get one for Chandler as well. if for some reason Denver didn't like their players, and wanted picks, say, two picks and Gallinari, then it could be the Knicks trading Gallinari, Fields and Randolph for Carmelo.
If they were keeping the first, I absolutely agree. But they can't look at it as Landry for a first but, if for some odd reason, Denver prefered a first to Fields, they look at it as Fields and Gallinari for Carmelo.
I just wish the team would do anything to improve the backup 4 depth. Cunningham plays hard and all but he is purely overmatched from a physical perspective. If you watch his play he gets driven out of position a lot, and if he doesn't time his leap right he can't even contend for rebounds. I am not sure what Cho is waiting for in order to rectify this, because to me it is the most obvious glaring weakness on the team, and would help solidify the bench the most.
Yeah, there's no way that NYK is giving up Fields. They'd have to be nuts. A SG with good size, who doesn't need his number called, is a willing rebounder (in fact, great at it), can hit the deepball if it presents itself and is a solid defender. Oh, did I mention he's making 2nd round rookie contract type money as well. He's going nowhere.
I don't think they are either. Was just saying, Walsh was mocked for saying he could get multiple firsts, but he could if he really wanted or needed to.
