Mea culpa on DeMarcus Cousins. I thought that guy was worth the risk and was flabbergasted that he fell as far as he did ... I'm pretty confident he's on the fast track to bust-town. He's got great size and seems pretty coordinated, but holy shit he's got loser written all over his face.

Anybody have a Kevin Love update? He get that double-double? About to break the all-time consecutive double-double streak?

This team may be mediocre...but I still love them. Down 7 with 5min to go and they rally for the win in OT.

    REFUSE TO LOSE

Did you catch him dancing before that last defensive possession in the fourth quarter? Totally unfocused.

Nic after the game: “We’ll keep fighting, We won’t stop fighting. Even if more guys get hurt and we end up playing with all rookies on the court, we’ll keep fighting.”

He picked up all his stats in garbage time. I think he had 10pts and 0 rebounds at halftime and the Clippers have been winning by 10+ the whole game pretty much. Stat padding monster.

Blake Griffin dominated from the tip. That's why I said over a month ago he's better than Kevin Love.

Thanks for the analysis. All I wanted to know is if he got the double-double. Its already obvious he has a horrible team around him.

This team is only 4.5 games out of 4th place :dunno:

Imagine if they didn't drop all of those early games they should have won on that east coast stretch. Fuck...

Aldridge had a horrible night, and still wound up with 23 and 9. Your star has really arrived when that happens.

    Batum was everywhere.

Crazy stat in that Clipper game. Clippers missed 45 shots ... and corralled 22 offensive rebounds!!! Ballgame right there.

If Rudy, Batum and Matthews could really kill three pointers, our offense would look soooo much better. These guys are getting Spurs-like wide open looks from Aldridge passing out of the post. They should be hitting those shots at a much higher clip. I just don't get it.

Tomorrow is going to be tough vs the Clippers.

Aldridge/Batum/Miller all played 43+ min. Every starters on the Clips played less than 34. Rudy could be out with back trouble(just speculating)

Clips have only won 3 games on the road this year so that helps. They could be a little motivated though after the last time these two teams met and Andre blew up Blake Griffin.

Man, seems like if Minnesota had someone to grab some of those rebounds, they might have been closer. Hmm.....

I know it's easy to pile on Love (he is a really sub par defender and he's got a lot of garbage man to his game), but that's a team problem not something you can lay at the feet of an individual player -- Love had 7 defensive boards out of his 11 total.

Too tired to post last night getting home nearly midnight, so thoughts now in no particular order...

Arco Arena was pathetic. In the early 90s when the Kings won 20-odd games a year, the place was packed and deafeningly loud. Tons of empty seats, every time out some giveaway or gimmick, just fake noise. Loudest cheers BY FAR for an obscure middle reliever from the SF Giants. Several Raiders in attendance were booed.

Never seen Aldridge miss so many point blank shots in my life. The shots were good, they all just kept missing by a hair. Fortunately he came alive in the 4th quarter & OT.

Nic, vous etes magnifique, je vous aime.
    Rudy, tambien, muy bien.

Not sure what was up with Wesley, really off. Patty needs to show me a lot more. Some examples of really bad decision making, e.g., shot clock under 5 seconds, he passes to Dante Cunningham 20 feet from the basket, Dante had to take a shot he had no chance of making.

Joel is a rock. I don't think he scored a point but had a major impact on the game. 2/3 of Joel still is good. Poor Dante, he just does not have size to play center in men's basketball above the high school level. Glad Nate put Joel in to start the 2nd half.

I wish I'd gotten a picture of Dalembert's face when he dropped the ball out of bounds on a point blank possession with Kings down by 2 in OT. Ticket $120, parking $10, bad food $12, that expression priceless.

No one would call this a masterpiece but this is not gymnastics or diving. No style points. Just need one more than the other team.

My excitement did not end with the game. I live on a dead end street off a side street and when I turned into the side street found it blocked by what looked like the entire police department. I counted 7 police cars. Anything that takes 7 police cars is not something I want to barge into, and I couldn't anyway since the road was blocked, so just sat there. They were putting a handcuffed man into a car, then brought out a handcuffed woman and put her in another car. An 8th police car pulled behind me so I could not exit or enter. Then one of the cops said on the loudspeaker to clear the road because "a lady" (me) wants to go through. I stuck my head out the window and asked him if it was OK, he said yes. No idea what happened. All quiet this AM.

Just got a GPS and for the first time EVER did not drive around and around trying to find the damn freeway. I have NO sense of direction, night makes it worse, they always direct people out of the arena in the wrong direction, turn me around once and I'm hopelessly lost. GPS worked like a dream. However, I still use 35-mm film so it will be a few days before I see how my pictures turned out.

    crandc,

Thanks for the report. I've thought about taking my kids to see the Blazers play at Arco (or whatever they call it these days). I've driven by 100 times on my way to points south (usually Yosemite) and often thought it would be cool to catch a Bazers game there while passing through. After all, now that the Sonics play in Oklahoma City, the Kings are closer geographically than any team in our own division.

So, how good was your seat for $120? On the broadcast last night, the Mikes mentioned how empty the place was and how easy it was to get tickets. I was hoping I'd be able to score some really good seats at a reasonable price.

My seat was about 8 rows back, side opposite where the teams sit, side of the arena. Just too far for facial close-ups with my 300-mm lens (600 is too damn heavy to manage at sporting events) but a very good view of the court, close enough to watch the Blazers huddle in time outs. I couldn't lip read but could see gestures, body language, had some idea of what was going on. I could have had a better seat if I'd wanted to pay for it, they were available, I'm just a bit broke (damn vet bill) and did not want to load up credit card.

Forgot to mention Mills looks like class clown, the one who fools around on the bench during breaks in the action & teases other guys.

Arco staff are pretty cool, it's the only place that still lets me bring my Nikon and you can stand alongside the court during pregame shootaround to try to get player autographs. Warriors don't allow that at all any more.
