Hendrickson to Play for Bucks in 2011

    The Waterloo Bucks, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of outfielder Davis Hendrickson to their roster for the 2011 season. Hendrickson,a sophomore at the University of Illinois, is the third player to be named to the Waterloo roster for the team's 17thseason.

    Last season, Hendrickson hit .258 for the Fighting Illini in 29 games. The Macomb, Illinois native finished the season with a .378 on-base percentage and five RBI.

    "I am very excited about the opportunity to play for the Waterloo Bucks," said Hendrickson. "I am looking forward to a summer of high-level baseball."

    Hendrickson played high school baseball at Macomb High School where he was named to the 2009 Class 1A/2A All-State team by the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches' Association. The left-handed hitter and thrower was ranked number 26 in the state by Prep Baseball Report and was a first-team All-Olympic Conference selection 2007 through '09. Born August 19, 1990, Davis is the son of Mark and Ericka Hendrickson.

    The Bucks will open the 2011 season on the road at the Battle Creek Bombers on June 1. Waterloo's home opener is scheduled for Saturday, June 4 at 6:35 pm versus the Eau Claire Express.
