I think if you'll re-read my post, you'll see that I said that Cho has about as much flexibility next summer as he does now as far as getting something in return for these guys. In my view, Cho should wait and see what the Blazers' record is prior to the deadline before deciding to pull the plug on this year. If the Blazers have moved up in the standings, which is certainly possible given their upcoming schedule, then I think he should be looking for minor moves to bolster the roster for the playoff run. If the team is still hovering at the bottom of the playoff bracket, then I'd be looking to scrap this season in favor of making moves for the future. Obviously, if a great deal comes along between now and then, you jump on it.

Do you really think it's the same thing MM? Anthony will not sign an extension with the Nuggets and he's their superstar. Do you think that Miller, Camby, or Joel fall under that category?

Should we trade those guys? Maybe, if the right deal comes along, but I don't think Cho should wholesale them out for table scraps like he did with Bayless. I think right now the team is trying to decide if the roster is good enough to compete, if they decide that they're not they will probably make a couple of big moves. Notice how the only move that's being talked about right now is for Devin Harris? I'd say that's a move that would keep us in playoff contention.

No way they make to 5 games over 500. I have it on good authority that the season is already over.

Anthouny situation is completely different. The Nuggets have asked their star player to resign with them and he said no. The Nuggets asked again and again and again and Anthony says no. Even with all this Denver is ultra concerned about trading Anthony and is trying to the very end to keep him.

Blazers have a team option on Miller, how is that similar to Anthony's sitaution? If they really want Miller back, they exercise the option.

Canby doesn't even have an expiring contract so what are we talking about losing him at the end of the season?

Joel is about the only one who the Blazers may "lose" at the end of the season . . . so Cho should should get going and trade Joel for all the teams lining up at the door wanting him.

There may not be a "next summer." Between the lockout and the Mayan calendar thing, things aren't looking so good for Cho if he sits on his ass-ets.

Regardless of whether there's a "next summer", I would presume there will be a period to make trades and sign new players prior to the start of whatever portion of next season is played, just as there was at the end of the last lockout. The Blazers won't be the only team with ending contracts and it certainly wouldn't be in the NBA's best interests to screw over every team in such a situation by depriving them of the opportunity to make trades. I think Cho and other GMs around the league have a pretty good idea by now of how the league is going to handle this.

Well, if the world is, in fact, ending in 2012... I don't think we'll be getting our championship.
