McMillan made it so Johnson would look good. McMillan praised Johnson to prevent public worry about getting rid of Bayless. To ease out Bayless, Nate built up Armon to the media. Once Bayless was gone, Roy went out, screwing up Nate's plan temporarily. That's why Armon got some minutes till Patty woke up.
Mills is a decent spark off the bench but will most likely never be more then that. Armon is at least another year from being worthy of regular minutes. He may never actually get there. Long story short, Portland's mythical Point Guard Of The Future is not currently on the roster.
The fact that Nate played Rudy & Matthews extended minutes basically as PGs speaks volumes about the backups on the roster. Mills is ok, Johnson too green. But if the Blazers still had Bayless, I think he would've tried to do too much himself last night...
