<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Chicago To Draft Roy For Lakers?DraftExpress.com - According to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.com, Phil Jackson believes Brandon Roy is the perfect player for the triangle offense and so the Lakers are talking with teams in the top 5 about trading up.One rumor has them sending Lamar Odom to Chicago in return for the rights to the #2 and #16 picks. This trade might have to be consummated after the draft, when Chicago has cap space to take on a bigger contract. Moving Odom?s $40 million contract would give the Lakers room to explore the talented free agent class of 2007. This may be where the obvious Brandon Roy to Chicago at #2 smokescreen started from.</div>http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...roy_for_lakers/
This does make sense...but do the Bulls want to part with picks that could add depth? Depends on who they really want. Is giving up Bargnani and another first rounder good enough for Odom?
I don't get the trade on the Bulls behalf. Their taking on a bigger contract, and it doesn't fit their need. Makes sense for Lakers who add 2 draft picks and a key free agent in 07.
Well the reason Chicago would be doing it was to acquire a PF, something that Odom would bring to them. He is obviously a very versatile player, but I think hes better suited to play SF. I dont think he is the answer for them at PF, but I understand their reasoning for going after him..
I also understand why they would do it, they get a solid guy who is already established as apposed to some 21 year old they don't really know much about. Would you guys do it if you were the Bulls?
