http://mmajunkie.com/news/22203/the...elimination-round-initial-cast-down-to-14.mma The UFC has decided that the single elimination round in which 28 fighters fought for 14 places on the show was far too exciting so they have cut it for the next installment of the series, TUF 13: Lesnar vs. dos Santos. Traditionally, since TUF 7 that is, fighters have had to qualify to be on the show by winning a preliminary fight. The 14 fights would span the first episode or two of the series. To me this suggests that the welterweights the UFC has assembled for TUF 13 are an especially weak group. Perhaps they have decided to go with personalities ahead of skills.
14-time Jiu-jitsu gold medalist Andre Galvao (5-2) was part of the group selected to be in contention for the show but has supposedly been cut due to the elimination round being... eliminated. I'm not sure what they're up to this season.
