FightMetric's ongoing effort to make MMA like baseball has taken another step forward with the introduction of UFC Records. Some interesting stats jump out:

    - Famously elusive fighter Lyoto Machida barely cracks the top ten in strikes absorbed. St. Pierre, Sonnen, Velasquez, and even CB Dollaway are ahead of him.

    - Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre leads all fighters appearing on nine of the eleven good categories, tops in four [HW champ Velasquez (4 categories), MW champ Anderson Silva (2), LW champ Frank Edgar (1), LHW champ Rua (1)].

    - Does landing more strikes = having less power? St. Pierre, Penn, Couture, Franklin, Leben, and Lytle have a lot of finishes between them to suggest otherwise.

    - Former WW champ Matt Hughes makes an appearance on total take-downs but is only 9th on the list with 40. Probably has something to do with the fact that guys rarely got back up. He is also on the significant strike accuracy list at 55.2%, good for sixth all-time. Again, mostly ground-and-pound.

    - Gray Maynard and Jon Fitch may be the kings of decisions in the UFC, but Frank Edgar and Sean Sherk both have average fight times exceeding three rounds.

    - Three of the top take-down artists in the UFC: John Howard, Jon Goulet, and Cheick Kongo. Go figure.
