While promoting his upcoming Strikeforce fight against Scott Carson, Herschel Walker was asked whether he’d like to one day return to play in the NFL. As an individual with no shortage of confidence in his hard-earned physique, Walker went along with the question, claiming he could compete in the NFL, that he can still run a sub-4.4 40-yard dash, and so forth. The media ran with the story, perhaps primed by fellow Georgian Evander Holyfield’s constant attempts at coming back to the sport that defines him. But Walker insists he was only playing along with a reporter’s question and has no intention of returning to pro football. Walker: Walker played pro football from 1983 to 1997 after winning the Heisman Trophy as a member of the Georgia Bulldogs. He says he’s in better condition now than he was then, and that he’d prefer to play for the Vikings or Falcons if he were to make a return. http://www.sbnation.com/mma/2011/1/25/1956178/herschel-walkers-nfl-return-mma
lol he had 13 years to come back. It would be stupid of him. Besides, i've watched his matches, he doesn't have the same explosion he once did no matter what he claims. He'd get torched.
Football and MMA are totally different monsters. Someone who's an athletic freak in MMA like Lesnar couldn't even make the cut with the Vikings. He's probably just trying to boost his next fight.
