Some names that are being thrown around right now on the market are Mo Williams, Rashard Lewis, Danny Granger, and Zach Randolph. From a Blazers perspective, I don't really know if we would want or could get any of those guys.

Rashard doesn't really make sense for us. He's making too much money and he's past the point where he would fit in with our timeline.

Mo Williams might have been the answer a year or two ago with a healthy Roy, but now I don't think so.

Granger would be nice, but I would think that he would be too expensive for us. Plus, I wasn't impressed with him during the game the other day. Dude reminds me of Zach Randolph, only at small forward. I don't think he would make much sense here.

    Randolph..... lol. No.

No, I doubt he is. Just some names that are being kicked around the league, and maybe we'd be talking about them more if the team was actually competitive right now and healthy, but we're not. Plus, Granger doesn't really fit a position of need for us right now. I'd say point guard or big man would be our target, and I'm just not seeing anyone on the market that would fit those needs, unless we can somehow pry Deron Williams from Utah and I would think that would be as likely as Sergio returning to the NBA.

Granger for me has gone from a player I love to a player I don't want near my team. He used to be Batum on steroids--an all around player who is a terrific secondary option. Now, he's Z-Bo at small forward. It's what happens to players when they're forced into being the primary option.

    *On a shitty team

Who knows what he would do on a contender... Indy has sucked since Reggie left. Still, I agree. I was listening to the Pacers game and Wheels wouldn't shut up about how Granger never passes the ball. That's disturbing. I think he's a great talent though. I'm just wondering how he would do paired with Aldridge. Is Aldridge a legit first option or is he a second option?

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4qa566n

    Out: Joel, Batum, Oden, Miller

    In: Collison, Granger, Posey

    Collison/Johnson/Mills
    Matthews/Rudy/Roy
    Granger/Posey
    Aldridge/Cunningham
    Przybilla/Camby (when healthy)

I would love to get Collison, they get Batum and Oden. I think I'd give up two of our young guys for Granger and Collison.

I don't know anything about Granger other than what I have seen on TV. But in general I do think many players adjust when they are in a different environment. Some obviously don't, but Granger seems to be one that would. (Again just guessing)

I can see why they would want a SG in return, but it seems to me they would take Batum. They might be interested in a Batum, Rudy (Elliott) and Pryz (Ending contract)

    But would we?

Man. I would hate that trade. SO. MUCH.

Granger is going to be 28 in April... Collison is still young at 23. Batum and Oden are 22 and 23, respectively.

Granger and Collison would not be enough to get this team over the hump in the next year or two, so I'd prefer to keep the young guys and move veterans to add to the youth than to give up on our young guys.

Agreed. That would be an absolute train wreck of a deal for the Blazers.

I guess it just depends on whether you think that Oden will ever be something. I'm not convinced anymore. Sure, Batum has some pretty promising talents, but I think adding Collison and Granger would be a decent tradeoff. I guess I didn't realize Granger was so old... and here I was thinking it was pointless to trade for Mo Williams because he'll be 29.

And the elephant in the room. His knee's. Multiple surgeries. Both knee's.

I agree. That is why in my post I questioned if we would want to do it. If it were not for the injuries it would be a no-brainer for me. The injuries have kept him on the perimeter like so many others.

I don't think Kahn will ever trade a point guard.

Yeah, Granger is sneaky-old. He was already 22 by the end of his rookie year and he's been toiling on bad Pacers teams for six years now.

Why would an All-Star player who just won a Community Service Award be on the trading block?

Then again, why hasn't he been offered an extension by his team. :)

I saw Granger live last season at the RG. Apparently he is allowed to shoot whenever he wants to shoot. He ended up with 30 points on 22 shots, but he didn't seem to be part of any offense. He'd get the ball and just go one-on-one. No thanks.
