He is the reason I am watching these finals games, he's probably the best announcer i've ever listened too, he's like a maestro of basketball, he knows everything and he's seen everything. Late in games he knows what the team is going to do and when he tells you what the team will do before the play he is right most of the time. He isn't flashy, he doesn't yell or say things to get attention, he just goes out there and does it the right way and let's the moment speak for itself. He just doesn't tell you what is happening he tells you why players and coaches are doing something. If ABC let's him go anytime in the future i'll be pissed.
I remember last year, in the NBA Finals, Game 5, he said, that the Pistons couldn't leave Horry open at the top of the key. Ba-boom, inbounds, and Horry makes an open three from the top of the key.I always think that coaches would be more intelligent, because they actually have to scout those players. Hubie was scouted and coached many of these players, so he knows what they're going to do.
Hubie's basketball IQ is very high, the coaches should really listen to some of the advice he gives during the games, however I do get annoyed at his repetition I would much rather have him than the CSN announcers lol.
I love Hubie Brown as an analyst, and I personally would love to see him call more games during the regular season next year, rather than the occassional ABC game on Sunday after January.
He's one of my favorites too. Very knowledgable, knows every player extremely well, and tells it how it is. You can learn so much sometimes just by listening to him. He's a pretty underated commentator.
I love Hubie Brown. He is my favorite analyst now because he is so damn knowlegable. Just like BCB said, he knows everything and he's seen everything. That beats anything. He was a great coach that always brought good out of his players, and is liked by everybody that ever met him.He is a guy that I would love to hang with for a couple hours and just talk basketball. He would start and carry a great conversation and provide facts, not just opinions. He makes guys like Steve Kerr look like a joke. I dislike Kerr as an analyst anyway, but that's besides the point. Hubie Brown is a great guy, knows everything there is to know about the game, has been around for a long time and has seen everything, and he just genuinly loves the game of basketball.
The only announcers who know what they are talking about in the NBA are former coaches and some former players.

Smith couldn't hold Hubies jockstrap. :flex:</div>Very true, but on that note, I still love Stephen A. He brings humor to it, and he really is a knowlageble guy. People just knock on him because he sometimes yells to get his point across lol. I sitll love the guy though, and I love watching Quite Frankly.

it's a nice little sports thing, the best part about it though is how they interview players. i don't see that a lot anywhere. but i really don't watch tv so.oh, and hubie brown is awesome because he is so humble. he knows the game and he loves it. you can tell it's pretty much his whole life. he nevre looks into the camera either. hahaha
You guys are overating him. He knows his stuff specially since he's old but some of the stuff he says is a little out there. Keeps praising Posey's D, I'm like WTF? Or says Rip is a very underrated defensive player and brings it every game. Now Walton, theres a guy I can just listen to for hours!!!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Now Walton, theres a guy I can just listen to for hours!!!</div>Tell me you're joking. The only reason I listen to him is the comedic factor. He either makes a big deal out of everything, or tries to undervalue the event.

Some commentators just suck, but he's so bad I want to mute the tv.
Hubie needs to start announcing TNT games with Marv Albert and Steve Kerr. He knows so much about basketball and I love it how he brings up all points of opinions during analysis.
Other than the times that he fumbles his words, I think Hubie is a good announcer, but I think it would be more enjoyable for me if Al Micheals was alongside him to call the finals.
Bill Walton is the funniest announcer in all of sports probably. I watch crappy games because I know he's announcing. Infact I saw a whole bunch of quotes from him the other day and I was bustin up.
I quite really can't stand him. He mixes up his words at times and doesn't seem to make any since. He also points out stuff not even important to the game. The only national TV NBA announcers I really like are those at TNT as for ABC and ESPN I could care less.
