Right-hander R.A. Dickey has reached a two-year deal with the New York Mets with an option for a third season, a baseball source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com. The deal is pending a physical Monday. Dickey, who resurrected his career last season with the Mets at age 35, would have been eligible for free agency next winter. The knuckleballer had filed an arbitration request to earn $4.7 million during the 2011 season, with the organization countering at $3.35 million. Among the first cuts in spring training as a non-roster invitee last year in Mets camp, Dickey nonetheless received an early-season promotion to the majors and went 11-9 with a 2.84 ERA in 27 appearances (26 starts).
