So your saying that Cho would sabotage his entire career like that? If you screw a team like that over in something as public as basketball your never getting hired anywhere again, save maybe OKC who would screw over there reputation by hiring him back.
Got precedent? (HCP, "precedent" here means "past examples of". As in, past examples of Mixum saying "Cho cares more about the Thunder than the Blazers" or that rival GM's will 'always be' for their old team. You know, proof. Got it HCP? Good)
DJ probably could have been had earlier in the season but not right now. They have no reason to trade him. He's young and starting to break out. You wait too long you lose out, Cho.
I thought DIXUM hated KP and wanted him fired...... Now he hates Cho........ I thought he said our season was over and we wouldnt make the playoffs....... Now he's mad that If we make trades we won't make the playoffs .............
Matthews, Aldridge and Batum is a pretty awesome start to build a team around. Just need to add the right pieces.
Well.... Kevin McHale clearly traded KG to Boston to help the team he used to play for. And Jerry West had a hand in getting Pau Gasol to the Lakers to help his old team. And there you have it. Lakers/Celtics finals 2 out of 3 years. Completely unfair.
Agreed. I think the biggest revelation about this article are the many Cho quotes, and maybe his first unplugged editorial about the team. And I don't think it was a very good first introduction-- imo. But second are your two above questions: "If we wanted to make a trade to help the team right now, we could," Cho said. "But we would have to give up a guy like Nic, who is a big part of our future. We don't want to do that. And we could go out and get a young point guard, but it would cost L.A., and we're not going to do that." The only point guard rumors I've read or heard surround Harris, who is sorta young. Most rumors speculate Miller, but if really only cost Miller that trade probably would have gone down by now. Aldridge is waaaaaayyy too steep a price. I think it's all smoke. I doubt anyone is traded. Can we get more than a 2nd rounder or late 1st rounder for Miller, Pryz, or Camby? I only see playoff teams wanting those guys. Is it worth it? A marginal prospect vs. 3 guys who could help Matthews/Batum/Aldridge mature and develop faster?
Of course you could get more for those guys. Late 1st rounder/2nd rounder? Gross. Maybe if we were one of those dead broke/need to shed payroll to avoid financial disaster type of teams.
I'm not sure "awesome" is the word I'd look for- maybe "solid" might be better. Both Matthews & Batum are average NBA starters and LA is clearly above average. But, we certainly could do worse. Now, if Oden can stay healthy it will improve both their games a bit for open jumpers and slashing routes to the basket. But if Oden remains as a permanently injured player we're not going to get much better as Camby is too old and Godzilla also nearing the end of his career and is pretty much an offensive-less center. A long term solution at PG is a must. Miller is aging and neither Mills nor Johnson is the answer. Oden is the key. If we knew how he'd pan out then we could really focus ourselves for exactly what we need. That's why I'm wondering if Cho isn't jumping the gun. Were it me, I'd wait until two things pan out- Oden and the new CBA. That's when we'll have our best look at the future.
generally agree, however if we could package Camby/Przy/miller, Williams or Babbit, and /or a pick for a quality PG propsect or a alternate PF/C to ream with MA I think we do it. Question: Do you think Aaron Brooks would be a viable PG for the Blazers? He is having an awful yr stat wise I have liked Maynor as prospect. There is always Devin Harris as a possibility. I just read mario Chalmers may be available - he's also havin a bad yr Daniel Gibson from Cle, another guy whose stats suck this yr IMO there aren't any "no brainers" out there who would be available to us for what we are likely to offer. Not easy
Roy, Oden, and Aldridge was awesome... I agree, Aldridge, Matthews, and Batum is "great" or maybe "good".
I don't know what to think about Brooks. Is he a Phil Ford? Is he a Talfair or Connely? Can he be a Harris? If I had to state so, I'd pass on him unless we got him cheap.
