Alan Belcher suffered a serious eye injury (detached retina) several months ago that required several surgeries. Not only was his career in jeopardy but his daily functionality well. The good news is his eye has healed and he will return to training in a number of weeks. Belcher is 4-1 in his last five fights including a split decision loss to Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 100. The 26-year old Rufusport fighter has been working his way up the middleweight ranks and was expected to fight Demian Maia before the injury--a fight that could still be on the horizon.
