Did you know her? http://www.wweek.com/portland/blog-26366-elizabeth_lynn_dunham_may_12_1961_jan_16_2011.html
Re: Hey HCP Did not. She was about 11 years older then me. Back in the day people in the neighborhood were trying to figure out who it was. Sad story man.
Re: Hey HCP And I think WW made the correct decision in deciding to release the victim's name. I think it's important that this ugly story comes completely to light.
Re: Hey HCP Absolutely. The idea there's a statute of limitations on this crime is ridiculous. This wasn't a one-time thing.
Re: Hey HCP Well since WW decided to tell the story the Oregonian decides to swoop in at the last second and spill their guts. http://www.oregonlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2011/01/neil_goldschmidt_sex_abuse_vic.html Seriously, the Oregonian has acted like pure scum throughout all of this and Goldsmidt is fucking shit. The Oregonian was never going to publish any of this until WW announced their article. They've been holding back this information for years.
Re: Hey HCP Anyone want some Pedo Pinot? Here's Goldsmidt's winery. http://www.avalonwine.com/Goldschmidt-winery.htm#axzz1Cfjd70Bw
This is crazy! All this coming out is a little overwhelming. Neil was like a cool older uncle to all of us in the neighborhood. Always was great to me and all my friends. Gave us shoes and gear. When this all came out it was very strange. His kids are great people, must be tough on them.
Re: Hey HCP Like most newspapers, the Oregonian has an agenda. In this case it's a deeply left leaning one. Been that way for decades and they make no apologies for it. The one thing I'll say for WW, they may be a lefty leaning wing nut rag, but they can be brutally honest to either side without the sheep stuff we see around here or in the Oregonian. I respect that.
Re: Hey HCP Yeah I've always respected the WW. The author of the article, Nigel Jaquiss, is a great reporter. I guess the guy has deep family money, a huge house in Laurelhurst and doesn't care who he pisses off. He's the one who brought the Goldschmidt rape to light.
I'm getting to the point that I just don't like hearing/reading the news anymore. Too depressing. I've quit watching Fox, CNN, and all the rest. Find myself more enjoying A&E, Travel Channel, Food Network, and the History Channel, among others of the same ilk. Oh, and did I mention I want to move to Hawaii?
Neil better be careful about showing his face in town for the rest of his life. I would definitely give him a piece of my mind if i ran into him.
Re: Hey HCP The Oregonian that endorsed George Bush for President? That "deeply left leaning" one? You should try the honesty thing yourself sometime, then. barfo
Re: Hey HCP Not sure that really applies. Usually, on TV anyway, statute of limitations does not start until the crime has been discovered. When it was committed has no bearing. This was a huge cover-up which included the murder of Michael Francke to silence him, and if Neil goes to jail he would take half of Oregon's power brokers with him.
