Jammed Finger...

    Does anybody know how to treat a jammed finger? I've jammed it before playing basketball but this time, it was when I was trying to catch a football and it's much more worse this time around. I can barely bend it before I'm in excruciating pain. :no1: Right now, I've been icing it and have it in a splint. Does anybody have any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

    just rest it but not too much and don't let it stop u from playin more. When i was younger that sh*t happened a lot and realized you will start to barely notice it if u continue playin those sports. Obviously utilize the other hand more. Icing is good but wont make it better quick, just don't stress over it. Soon you will prolly twist ur ankle and forget all about it. lol not jynxin ya but thas happened to me

    When I jam a finger, I yank on it to 'pull it out'.

    I pull the jammed finger too, it helps sometimes. I jam my fingers all the time playing basketball and football [​IMG]

    Usually I can just shake it off and keep going. Just try moving it. Fight the pain and you'll be glad. And then theres always rest...

    I get them all the time too. I try to pull it out but sometimes I get them too bad to do so. Just rest it if that happens, all you really can do.

    Hope ya recover quick man. But, just keep icing and using the splint.

    If you splint it, itll hurt sooooo much when you try to bend it. Usually when I jam fingers I ice it for a while. Splints suck, dont use them unless you break it.

    When I jam my finger, for some reason, when I play on, it's OK, but if I don't it starts swelling up and all. But then again, I've never had a really serious jammed finger. Actually, I've never had any serious injury playing sports.

    jammed finger. hahahaTRY A BROKEN ARM. nah i'm kidding that's never happened to me.but it's only a jammed finger man. hahaha toughen up. they were all bad when i was a little kid but now when i get 'em it's like.. yeah it's nothing.

    Really, just try pulling it out. But it isn't that big of a deal. Just keep playing with it.

    You should rest it for atleast a day straight. No use of it at all. Ice it, and do nothing with it. Let it rest.Come the second day however, start clenching your fist, stretching your fingers, stuff like that
