Well, one nut wing calling to lynch a US Supreme Court justice certainly doesn't mean he speaks for the left. It means he forgot to wear his tin foil hat with the antenna.

LOL @ crandc having cronies. Christ you're awkward.

I don't know why you single her out. She hardly posts. And stop feeling like a victim and take a look at the OT section: of the 16 political threads on the front page, 5 were started by EL PRESIDENTE, 4 by you, 2 by maxiep, 1 by Denny Crane, 1 by Blazer Prophet, 1 by OSUBlazerFan and 1 by SlyPokerDog. That's 15 out of 16 threads started by conservative leaning posters.

To be fair, there's not much for those left-of-center to trumpet. Those on the Left finally had their policies enacted, and they were overwhelmingly rejected by the American people.

The Federal Budget, benefits for public employees, public sector unions, nationalizing companies and industries, cap and trade, trying to coddle our enemies rather than showing strength, higher tax rates, amnesty for illegal aliens, Keynesian economics and on and on. It's a repudiation of an entire political philosophy that overreached.

Each one of these is a thread in it's own and some I agree (higher tax rates) some I disagree (you say "coddling" I say "not bombing").

The president's approval rating is better than his disapproval and as the economy improves so will his ratings. The economic policy hasn't been popular but the left there have been big accomplishments in foreign policy and social issues.

People like Obama personally and are rooting for him, which explains his approval rating. However, they hate his policies. If you look at the polling of his policies, they are across the board negative.

As for his "accomplishments" in foreign policy, I'd like to know what they are. If you're talking the new START treaty, it's a tremendous accomplishment...if you're Putin. Socially, I'll give him credit for ending DADT and that's pretty much it.

His list of failures has him surpassing Jimmy Carter as the worst president of my lifetime.

For the record, when I say "coddling" I mean his consistent program of outreach has been interpreted as real weakness. He invites the Muslim Brotherhood to his speech in Cairo, and they're actively spewing anti-American rhetoric during the instability in Egypt. He's humiliated Israel, yet the Palestinians hate us as much as they did before. Nations we counted on as allies are ditching us left and right and forming new alliances with our enemies (e.g., Turkey and Brazil cozying up to Iran).

President Obama is a charming guy, but charm doesn't get you very far in the world of international relations. He's being played for a fool and its having real consequences on the world stage.

Is there some site that compiles polling on policy? I don't know how you can make a statement without that knowledge. If you look at RCP you'll see there is 19 point swing between polls on his approval ratings alone.
C'mon, he got the Nobel Peace Price!!!! Seriously though I like his foreign policy more for what he hasn't done than what he has done. He hasn't invaded any countries, he hasn't said "Bring 'em on!". However, I like that he appointed Hillary Clinton, visited more countries in his first 6 months than any other president, showed willingness to cooperate with the U.N. and engaged Muslim countries.

START was approved by the military, present and previous Secretaries of State and a whole bunch of other people who know more about the subject than you and I. That's good enough for me.

I was only a baby when Carter was in office so I'll have to take your word on that. Obama isn't done yet. He may turn it around.
