The consolation is that he is in his rookie year. Perhaps he'll break out next year because this year, he's looked like a complete bust.
Babbitt has been the worst rookie picked in the first round we've had on our roster since Travis Outlaw.
Travis put up a 16.4 PER his rookie season. Granted, he only played in 8 games, but at least when he played, he wasn't a total embarrassment. By comparison, Martell had an 11 PER. Hands down, though, the "worst" first-round pick the year they were picked was Greg Oden, since he didn't even play a game, yet took up a roster spot.
Travis played 19 total minutes his rookie season. He didn't do shit. I give Greg a free pass because he couldn't control his injury. He would have contributed had he played.
He did more than Oden did. If you're going to slag on Outlaw being a late first-round pick out of HS and not seeing much PT, I'm going to slag on Oden being the #1 pick and contributing jack shit.
I have to laugh at 'Psycho T' going 1-8 from the field, yet getting 12 FTA and fouling out LMA. Did Tim Donaghy ref this game?
I, too, was thinking that Mills was our best player. He was, in comparison to the other screw-ups. He was the only Blazer who could make a shot.
Oh. I missed the first half. What I saw was Mills missing about 6 shots in a row, throwing the ball away, and generally playing like a rookie third stringer. Like usual.
Well, Travis managed to do enough in his few minutes to put up a 16.4 PER, so he clearly did belong on the court the few times he was on it. Oden didn't either, at least when he cared to show up to the games during his first year. I have to put Elliott Williams alongside Oden as well. Absolutely zero impact in their first seasons on the roster.
