    Today's entry:

Dumb as a fucking bag of rocks, and dangerous. It's like listening to your crazy old aunt rant and rave about shit she has no clue about... but your crazy old aunt has 10 million people following her on Twitter.

I have to agree with you on this one.

Palin is a train wreck. And thus far I think Obama has handled this situation perfectly. He has not inflamed the situation with rhetoric, not openly taken sides, quietly moved Americans in harm's way (I have a friend in Cairo and she has been relocated for now to Turkey until this all blows over) out of the area, seems to be taking a soft key approach in finding a solution... I don't know how it could be handled any better.

Republicans learned from the Left's mistakes when it comes to nonsensical rantings. Instead of "illuminati" and "skull and bones", use names that don't just make people laugh, but instantly make them think of our "enemy".

    Another thought.

Palin is an example of what is wrong in politics today. When the left does something very right, there is this compelling need for the right to bash for the sake of bashing. When the right does something good, the left is compelled to do the same bashing. Even this board is a microcosm of that thinking.

The facts are the left has done all the right & proper things in this Egyptian disaster and Palin should be more American and give credit where credit is due.

This is perhaps the most reasonable, rational political post I've ever seen on here. BP, I apologize for all of my part of the BS that you and I went through in that "Obama Detractors" thread. Repped.

I appreciate that. For my part, I know I get carried away at times an am unfair to you and a few others. I'm trying to change that aspect of my posts.

Her line about Obama's "investments" being "a bullet train to bankruptcy" was pretty good.

It cracks me up how some people can drive their political opponents to the point of insanity. Presidents Clinton and Obama and Nancy Pelosi drive the Right nuts, and George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin do the same to the Left.

I'm no Palin fan, but am I missing what I am supposed to be outraged about in this excerpt? I don't buy the media's scenario of what is actually going on in Egypt; it's too much of a good vs. evil storyline, and I too would like more information on the dynamics of who these protests started, in multiple cities, on the same day, with no leadership.

Please don't compare Palin to Cheney and Bush. Palin is nowhere near the same level. Bush, Cheney, Clinton, Obama, and Pelosi are all elected officials with actual political experience and power. Palin is a pundit who will never be elected to any position again, and as we get closer to the 2012 presidential race Palin is going to become a distant memory. Only the hardcore Tea Party members support the ludicrous things she says. The OP knows that she has run her course, and soon she will only live on in hilarious YouTube videos.

Palin Event Canceled Over 'Safety Concerns'

An event scheduled for May featuring Sarah Palin was canceled the day after it was announced, citing "personal attacks" against Palin and "safety concerns."

The Sharon K Pacheco Foundation announced the cancellation of their 2011 Patriots & Warriors Charity Gala and included a statement on their Facebook page. It reads, "Due to an onslaught of personal attacks against Governor Palin and others associated with her appearance, it is with deep sadness and disappointment that, in the best interest of all, we cancel the event for safety concerns."

The foundation went on to say no direct threats were made against Palin or anyone else involved with the event.

Wow! Sure, I know my comment was personal but I swear I was going to be gentle.

The best part of that video was Charlie Gibson missing on what the Bush Doctrine is/was. He came off as stupid as Palin.

I do agree on Palin not being at all on the level as Obama and Bush. People like ChrisinPDX, who elevate her to their level with their anger at her, scare me more than Palin, though. She's a crazy lady with a Facebook account. Just let her be, and hopefully she'll go away. For whatever reason, the far left just won't do that.

What anger? She would be hilarious to me if she didn't have such a rabid following fervently repeating her idiocy because she's "folksy" and appeals to their own anti-intellectual leanings, which to me is dangerous.
