I still can't believe Lawler is in the title match. If he manages to win, he should retire the title and then the WWE could take advantage of that and have some type of a tournament for it. Because honestly, Lawler needs to be at the announce table full time, not wrestling. He's also like, 62, so I feel that a full time wrestling schedule wouldn't agree with his body anyways. However, I don't expect Lawler to win, because again...they've pushed The Miz too much for him to lose to someone like Lawler. It'd also be more entertaining if he lost on the biggest stage at Wrestlemania.
Lawler seems like a safe choice to me. As it is, they're struggling to find a sixth guy for the Chamber (R-Truth?), so they can't really afford to take someone out of that match to challenge Miz. Also, Miz beating Lalwer just puts Miz further over as a heel, as though he needed it. I just hope they let Miz win cleanly. Its also a nice little send off to the in-ring career of Lawler, who can still go a bit even at 62.
I'd like The Miz to win cleanly, but I doubt that happens. I can't remember the last time I saw a heel champion win cleanly (maybe Kane). The WWE has had a tendency to make heels look insanely beatable, only to end up winning with shady methods (Ziggler and Miz have been the main culprits). And I'm also shocked by Lawler being able to go to. He's still in decent shape for being as old as he is, and can still put on a solid enough match. Yea...the WWE badly needs some more star power right now. They're in bad need of Triple H coming back on Raw (and 'Taker coming back to SD wouldn't hurt either) to give them the extra star power, because there's no way R-Truth should be in the Elimination Chamber. Oh yea, and The Miz doesn't need any more help to be pushed further as a heel. He's already arguably the biggest heel in WWE (only Barrett and Punk could be bigger)...plus the more he gets pushed over, the more over the top Cole becomes...and he's already completely unbearable, and gets worse and worse every goddamn week.
Can't wait for this. I'm very excited. Mostly for the Raw Elimination Chamber Match and Miz vs. Lawler. My predictions are... Raw Elimination Chamber Match - Cena SmackDown Elimination Chamber Match - Kane WWE Champion The Miz vs. Jerry Lawler - Jerry Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio - Del Rio WWE Tag Team Champions Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov vs. Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel - Heath and Justin
The Miz vs. Jerry Lawler- The Miz, win by cheating Raw Elimination Chamber match- John Morrison, Cena will lose because hopefully its him and Rock at wreselmania Smackdown Elimination Chamber match- Edge Kofi Kingston vs. Alberto Del Rio- Del Rio Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov vs. The Corre- Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov
So, I finally got around to watching this PPV, and I gotta say, it was one of the better PPVs WWE has done in a while. Both Chamber matches were fantastic. And all I have to say is...wow, John Morrison. He may have lost but he was damn impressive, and some of the stuff he can pull off is just incredible. All in all, great PPV, the two Chamber matches alone were worth it, and having a solid opening match between Kofi and ADR, as well as a solid WWE Championship match made it all the better.
I take it you neer saw an Elimination Chamber match. It is lowered down just like any other cage.it can be taken off and on its lowerd to the ring like a steel cage or hell in the cell.
