The article link is for a signup online paper and the preview cannot be c/p'ed but Gay killed him on offense and blocked some of his shots on defense, Morrison played well but it's a consensus that Gay was a step ahead, my god Morrison is going to be terrible on defense.
I wanna see clips of this workout badly. I wonder if Gay keeps working out that well or if it was just a one day thing. LOL I cant wait to see Morrison try and play defense in the NBA
Gay's been great in his workouts, the Bobcats really like him yes it will be hilarious watching Morrison try to play defense in the NBA. :thumbdn1:
You guys mock his defense, but let's face it, defense is lost among a lot of players in our league today. All you need to do is fit him on a team that hides his defense, a lot of teams do that in the league today, especially with zone.

Deaven George made Morrison look like a schoolgirl in a workout and Rudy Gay killed him apparenlty. I saw footage of the workout with George too on tv and Morrison kept getting mad. I love both Morrison and Gay, but I don't think Morrison is ready to handle guys like Gay who is an athletic freak. But Gay impressed Charlotte in his individual workout as well. Hmm.. who will they take?

Get it through your heads boys:Even the best defensive players in todays game get blown by on the regular. The only two players that I don't see getting blown by much are Ron Artest and Bruce Bowen. Besides that, your consensus "Top Defenders" still get blown by alot. Guys like Tayshaun, Kobe, Dwayne, TMac, Paul Pierce, Morris Peterson, Larry Hughes, and Chauncey Billups to name a few. From those players, and maybe 10 - 20 others, every player in the NBA is mediocre defensively at best. Theres a reason scoring has went up in the past few years, and it isn't all because of the rule changes. Players are simply horrible defensively these days, and while Morrison wont be a great defender, he wont be any worse than 90% of his competition

Solid, but not a top defender. Same with T-Mac and Mo-Pete isn't much to brag about either on the defensive end, he's very inconsistant. Replace these 3 with guys like Gerald Wallace, Jason Kidd, etc. But aside from that, I get your point and you are completely right. But what I have a problem with is people accepting poor defense nowadays. Back when the NBA was at its best (80's-90's) poor defense would NOT be tolerated by 90% of the coaches in the NBA. Now, it's just sad that people make comments like "let's face it, defense is lost among a lot of players in our league today. All you need to do is fit him on a team that hides his defense, a lot of teams do that in the league today, especially with zone." That's terrible, Rok. It's terrible that you, and a lot of other fans accept poor defense and don't mind as long as the player can score. Another reason why the NBA isn't talked about as great like it was 10-20 years ago.
KMart, come on, Morrison is just awful defensivly, most players in the league can at least stay with their man and Morrison cannot even do that. At 200 pounds he's going to get owned on defense a lot, your right that a lot of the league is bad defensivly but the NBA doesn't allow players to play defense in the first place. Good luck hiding Adam Morrison's defensive inability, good luck.

To say that a player shouldnt have to be good at defense because so many other players arent good defenders today means nothing.

To single out one player is stupid and the point I'm trying to make. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Exactly just because there isn't great defense these days doesn't mean that players shouldn't have to be good at defense.</div> I'm not saying players shouldn't play defense, but if someone is bad at it, why are you going to single him out when there are others who don't play defense as well in this league? The thing about Morrison is he will at least try unlike some players. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Good luck hiding Adam Morrison's defensive inability, good luck.</div> I don't get this statement, you really expect it will be hard to hide someone's defense in this league?
