Kobe's horrendous at fighting through screens, especially for a player of his caliber. I've seen so many plays where he sticks with his man then runs right into a screen or tries to go over it but ends up a step behind him.

F*ck Darius Miles. That f*cking low-life causing problem trash bag. He doesn't deserve to become better or play with PJ. And Phil wouldn't even want to coach him.

Marcus banks being the laker's starting point guard next year would definetly be a boost, and an upgrade at point from smush, marcus banks would be alot more consistant and procuctive.Banks has better moves, shooting range and is just a better shooter lol.smush no doubt got dunking over him but who needs dunking from a point guard and from what i saw from smush in the playoffs anybody would an improvement over him 5 for 21 if im not mistaken lol wow we NEED marcus manks, when the lakers offseason started i was all about signing mike james but it looks like he will want too much money to sign with the lakers and i believe banks would fit better heck ive wanted banks ever since we ALMOST had him in that trade with the celtics grr...lol well ill be phyced iof we can sign banks<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DRob-50-Forever @ Jun 17 2006, 08:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>He was waived. [IMG]</div>yea but there is speculation that the lakers want him back but there is still kareem rush to look at

P.J. didnt wanna coach Sprewell, so he couldn't come. It's a pattern.

He'll be back. He was really consistent off the bench when Kobe was out of the games. The only reason why he was waived was because he suffered from the season ending injury, as well as they had money from the trade in the beginning for a buyout. He was at several of the Lakers practices at the end of the season. Laron Profit will be back. As far Darius Miles and Dennis Rodman comparison...I also agree with Miles attitude problem not really translating to hard work ethic like Rodman. Ron Artest and Dennis Rodman share the similiarity they are both headcases, but when it comes down to it they'll bust their asses to get a win. Darius Miles is more like John Starks, shows some flashes but in the end is another forgotten player who had great potential coming into the league.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DRob-50-Forever @ Jun 17 2006, 03:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>He was waived. More banks news~~~~~Banks' agent, Mike Higgins, said the 24-year-old wants the full mid-level exception for five years, for a total of $29 million. Higgins, aware that the Lakers were unable to sign Antonio Daniels for the mid-level last year because they offered just two years, said Banks will have Minnesota and several other teams vying for him this summer. "If somebody offers the mid-level for five years to Marcus and the Lakers offer two, it's going to be tough for the Lakers no matter how much Marcus likes the Lakers," Higgins said by phone. AM 570 Radio just had a report about talking to Mitch and was asked about Marcus Banks. He replied saying you can scratch Banks off the list. They can't afford him due to the fact that they gave the MLE to Vlad, but he said they have made a deal with a veteran PG. He didnt say who, but they will probably announce it soon when the officially signing begins.

It's a shame really, Banks would have completely solved the Lakers point guard woes.

I think he would have been good, not an immediate solution in my opinion though. I think they need a little more seasoned vet. At this point giving the minutes Banks would have gotten to Farmar would be nice to see, ha, Jackson giving a rookie minutes ya right. He would have a better chance starting for Larry Brown. I would have been curious to see Mardy Collins play for the Lakers and Phil. He is a big point who is very unselfish, but apparently he had bad workouts. GO FARMAR!

Marcus would be a good pick up for the Lak's. Smush isnt a very good pg, and he should not start. Marcus is a good shooter, he can score when asked to, good passing abilities, and he showed some bvery big leaps in the right direction mid-season with the T's. He is still a youn guy too, and probably the best FA pg out there, except Mike James...But the Lakers wouldnt want Mike James hoggin the ball with a team with Kobe on it...

To say Banks is a good shooter is a huge streach, he is an ok shooter.
