The Rockets are motivated to either make a big change to the roster, or a small trade for a center, according to multiple sources. But Houston is waiting for the Carmelo Anthony situation to be resolved before moving forward.

"They will be extremely active," one person involved in talks said. "Daryl (Morey, the Rockets' general manager) is talking to a lot of teams. He feels a lot of pressure to make some changes."

Morey has increased his pursuit of a center with the deadline approaching and Yao Ming's expiring contract, along with some of their talented younger players are being used as bait.

The Nuggets have been much more receptive towards Houston's offers for Nene than they have for Anthony. Denver is far more likely to trade Nene if they also deal Anthony before the deadline.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
JR Smith is akin to Outlaw. No real basketball IQ, features poor shot selection but can possibly hit any shot he takes. And, like Outlaw until this season, an approximately average player. Decent guy to have off the bench, not a good starter.

I do like Birdman. High level rebounder, great weak side defender. He'd make a great reserve big man and could start alongside Aldridge until Camby gets back.

It all depends on what the team sends out. Both these guys would upgrade the bench, but if the team is trading starters...that won't work as well.

As for Aaron Brooks, he'd be a fine backup. He's been a pretty poor NBA player outside of last season, so I definitely don't see him as any kind of PGOTF. Backup point guard of the present and future would be fine.

    JR Smith is a nutcase

Andersen will be 33 in July and he hasn't been able to stay healthy lately

    I'll pass

Yep. Andersen is damaged goods . . . not something the Blazers need right now.

    I would pass too.

I would take on Andersen to help Melo move, if it was a smaller deal involving Joel. I don't like moving Camby for him, personally. I know that isn't the entire deal. But that is our swap at C.

Why does JR Smith always seem to be jacking up 3s in blow outs? I see that clip, 11 point game with a minute 20 left, and he's hoisting a 3. Did the same in our game we lost by 20 or so. I remember when Patty did something similar last season, we had a few vets go up to him and tell him not to do it. I know Carmelo isn't a leader, but Chauncey can't pull him aside? Anyone?

The funny thing is that there were 20 seconds left on the shot clock.

So, let's say we got "Birdman." (puke) Could the team at least spray paint him and start over with a blank canvass?
