The Nashville Predators acquired center Mike Fisher from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a 2011 first-round pick and a 2012 conditional draft pick, the team announced Thursday. "We were seeking a top-six forward and Mike Fisher was the player we set our sights on," Predators general manager David Poile said. "He plays playoff-style hockey all season long. He plays on the power play, kills penalties, is strong on draws and can match up against any opposing line." The Predators needed help down the middle after No. 1 center Matthew Lombardi, their prized free-agent pickup last summer, went down just two games into the season with a concussion and hasn't returned. Fisher, 30, married "American Idol" winner and country music star Carrie Underwood in July 2010. Fisher has two more years on his deal, with $4 million next season and $3 million in 2012-13, and counts $4.2 million against the salary cap, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun. The forward has 167 goals and 181 assists in 675 regular-season games, all with the Senators. He had 14 goals and 10 assists in 55 games for the Senators this season. I hate the Sens, but I really like Mike Fisher. Now, with this trade; I can finally watch him and not cringe.
Gets sent to Nashville where he can be closer to his hot ass wife and play for a playoff team...lucky bastard.
