Re: How are your team's TV commentators? For Celtics fans, we get a nice treat. Listening to Tommy Heinsohn babble all night long and give out Tommy Points. I love him and Mike Gorman, they've been doing the games for 25 years, next year will be there 26th. Tommy is blatenly biast and it is hilarious. I don't think I've ever seen one call on the Celtics where Tommy hasn't agreed with. Every time Boston gets a foul it was a bad call in Tommy's mind, I think it's hilarious....also he may be drunk half the time he's on the air haha. Mike does a nice job with close games, when Pierce hit that shot in Arenas's face in Washington this year in OT to win it he did a great job voicing that ending. Anyway, how are other commentators around the league?
Re: How are your team's TV commentators? I dont get Nuggets games but I watch most Sixer games so I will grade them. Marc Zumoff and Steve Mix are really good. They have tons of energy and they know alot about the game. Zumoff won an Emmy for best sports broadcaster eight times. Steve Mix played in the NBA and made the all star team so he has a feel for the game. Both are pretty good overall.

You should be lucky to have the guys we do, the homer commentators on NBA League Pass get on my nerves.
Re: How are your team's TV commentators? For the Heat we have Ed Reid and Tony Fierentino. Ed Reid's been broadcasting for the Heat since our expansion year, he's not much an anylist, but he's an outstanding commenattor. Tony just joined us last year when Mike Fratello left us to coach the Grizzlies. He was also a former assistant coach for the Heat and coach of the former WNBA team "Miami Sol". I've met him a few times, in fact he used help coach at my old basketball team's practices. He's a good guy. More an analyst than anything though and sometimes goes into too much detail.
Re: How are your team's TV commentators? I haven't really heard other team's TV commentators, except for a couple, so I can't really compare Steve Buckhantz and Phil Chenier. But, what I can say about Steve is that he can get biased at times calling for travels or fouls at unneccesary times. He has a weird habit of saying how many 3 pointers 1 player has after he hits one. He also likes to say "(insert coach name) is livid!"His other quotes are..."Dagger", "Backbreaker", "How good is he Phil?", "How do you like that?", "Tooough shot!", "It's good if it goes!", "Score the field goal, and he'll go to the line!", and "Oh My!".

AI is a little guy, but the best little guy to play the game already most would say.He looked like a rocket? So what's your point not like they are saying he sucks. WOW just wow LOL so funny your 13 so that explains it.

Re: How are your team's TV commentators? I like the Nugget commentators, Bill Hanzlik knows a lot about the team and the game, and being a former player and coach, it is a plus. Chris Marlowe is new to the Nuggets, but he is a very good commentator and he has had lots of experience doing play-by-play as he said once.
Re: How are your team's TV commentators? I watch the UPN games, so we have George Blaha and Bill Laimbeer or Rick Mahorn. Blaha is pretty good, and Laimbeer isn't bad, but Mahorn is pretty bad.FSN is decent, but they have a high pitched guy on there, Greg Kelser, and his voice is annoying the second he opens his mouth.
Re: How are your team's TV commentators? Mark Folowill and Bob Ortegel are the mavs commentators. They are biased and I mean biased. Especially Ortegel, he is a big Mavs homer. Im not complaining but sometimes I would like to have some more fair commentators although i like the ones we have.
Re: How are your team's TV commentators? I think Folowill and Ortegel rock .They are real fans. Get excited a lot.
Re: How are your team's TV commentators? I like them, they have nice personalities, but sometimes you have to admit they get a bit homerish.
Re: How are your team's TV commentators? Tommy Heinson and Mike Gorman are the best commentators I've ever had the priviledge of listening to.
Re: How are your team's TV commentators? This year we had Marv Albert and Mark Jackson covering all the Nets games (in HD!!)..Marv is obviously a terrific announcer, but I miss having Ian Eagle doing the Nets games because he has been doing them for so long. I honestly like Eagle better than Marv, but you cant really complain because they are both among the best in the bussiness. Jackson is ok, he is funny at times and sometimes has good information to share, but as a negative he talks about himself and his career alot and also says "give credit to ________" a good 10 times a game when something happens..

But even on that note, he's funny and I enjoy listening to him. I love the Tommy Points too. But to be honest, Tommy doesn't know too much about the rest of the league. He only really knows about it if it has something to do with the Celtics, or it's a big time superstar. I mean come on, he honestly said this season: "What I am about to say, I firmly believe. This Boston Celtics team will end up with a better record than the Pistons this year." LMFAO!!! Good call buddy. I also love how he talks up every single Celtic that puts on a uniform and talks about half of them to be future stars.I also really like Mike Gorman. He's knowlagable, and he does a great job with the play-by-play. The only knock on Mike is I HATE when he gives out Tommy points. That's Tommy's job, it's his thing. So yea, for the most part I really like our commentators. 25 years of brilliance, they've seen it all. It just wouldn't be the same without Mike & Tommy.
