Read the book. It's a modern update on Ayn Rand's classic. This is the first of a 3 part trilogy.

Gotta read the book to get the trailer. Otherwise it would look like a pretty boring flick! Can't wait for this, though. 3 parts? That is bad ass. I always figured it would have been almost impossible to do the film in one installment.

    Fucking awesome.

The book is like 3000 pages.

I could see it being 2 parts, since I found the book to be two parts.

The first part is about all the bullshit between politics and government. The second part is a great science fiction story.

Who is John Gault? He's a brilliant engineer who invented a most amazing invention, but went on strike because the government and its crony capitalists stacked the deck against him.

I won't spill any more and ruin the plot for those who never read it.

I will say the book was the culmination of Ayn Rand's writing and philosophical work.

The Fountainhead was one of her earlier works turned into a movie staring one of the greatest actors of all time, Gary Cooper.

Rand's philosophy and writing is definitely interesting, but for me, after awhile, all of the 'guys like us are strong and brave and great, and everyone is a wuss' became boring and far too simplistic.

The book is amazing. I'm hoping the movie follows suit.

From the trailer, it really does look meh. But because I love Rand, i'll give this film a chance.

They are making two more of those? Looks like it is going straight to home video.

I tried reading the book 2 years ago. I think I got 200 pages in before I quit. Anyways, I read a lot more now so I'm gonna give it another shot before the movie.

The book is pretty over rated -- it makes a lot of sense if you view it as a reaction to the threat of communism that was strong when it was written. Unfortunately, I've seen a lot of schmucks treat it as their Bible because the whole virtue of selfishness thing gives them license to be assholes.

They missed their chance for a great movie while Roy Rogers was alive.

you're right, compared to the book, it would be a relief to just watch 6 hours of a boring movie!

Speaking of Ayn Rand, how is that dead old social security accepting right wing santa claus?
