If you had to start a franchise today with Philip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers, and Ben Roethlisberger, who would you pick. They're all similar in age Rodgers 27, Big Ben 28, Rivers 29. All three I would put (along with Brees) on that second tier behind Brady and Manning). Despite a lot of people going against Rodgers earlier in the year, I'm gonna stick by my stance in August and go: 1. Rodgers 2. Rivers 3. Roethlisberger
1. Big Ben 2. Aaron Rodgers 3. Rivers Ben had a bad game, and the Packers were destined for victory - it happens. I still take 2 Superbowls over 1.
Well the ACTUAL 'Dan Patrick Show' question was who is the 3rd best QB in the NFL (which included Brees + the other 3). I'm telling you, this is a hard question for me. I was never on the Wilbon, "Big Ben is my money guy!1!1!!" bandwagon. I always thought he was a great quarterback a part of an greater team. Even if Brees is on this list (but I didn't add him because he's 32?), I'd still go 1. Rodgers, 2. Rivers, 3. Brees, 4. Roethlisberger
Ben wasn't even the reason they won the first SB. He had a ridiculously low QB rating and over threw many balls. I like all 3 of them, but there's something weird about having Philip Rivers #3 on your list. I like Rodgers better, but I can't put Rivers anything below #2, whereas I can see why others would have Rodgers at 3. Not sure if that makes any sense. I'm a little blitzed.
Ahah, it makes sense but I think Rodgers is better than Rivers because so far on paper, Rivers had some very good teams behind him and just couldn't win.
I dont think Roethlisberger is all that great. yea he has 2 super bowls, but is that more of his team being great or him? Look what happened when he ran the 2 min drill.
