So you are saying that Kevin Love is a lock.

I don't know if any stat lovers saw it, but Andre Miller was one turnover away from a triple double.

Nah, Love's team won too many games this week. We all know he's a stat padder on a team that doesn't win. When his team goes 2-2 for the week, it kind of ruins that image (at least temporarily - until the Wolves return to their losing ways). The Wolves need to go 0-4, or at least 1-3 for Love to uphold his images as an all-start stat padder who doesn't play defense on a losing team.

On the other hand, the other all-star stat padder who doesn't play defense, but makes all his teammates better, continues to lead his team to losses. But, he did have a couple really cool dunks. Maybe he'll get POTW. Or maybe Stern will invent a new award just for him - DOTW.

Aldridge is the first player in franchise history to score 36 or more in three straight games.

The only blemish on an otherwise great game for Andre. It's not often you see a guy score 15 points on only 6 FGA, to go along with 12 assists.

On several of those turnovers, he was stripped from behind. He was constantly beating Will Bynum off the dribble, only to have Bynum recover and poke the ball loose from behind.

Great win for the Blazers. Showed some grit to get this one done. Detroit practically handed us the game near the end though.

Really? Wow!!! LMA has obviously been balling, but this puts the three game run in real perspective.

Kudos to the team for improving their road performance. Since I jumped on Nate for not properly preparing the team to play on the road, it is only fair to note the improvement. A few weeks ago, the Blazers would have lost this game.

Love the fact that the "Nightly Notable" on NBA goes to blake griffin for scoring 25 and grabbing 13 boards while leading his team to a loss while Aldridge again puts up a huge scoring night on a win for the blazers and no love for him. I'm getting the feeling they really don't want to mention any all star snubs on there.

Dang. I would've thought Drexler would have done it at some point.

He's just so unstoppable lately. The only time he's not destroying other teams is when we can't get him the ball.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
What's shocking to me is that he's getting better. When he was playing really well at the end of December and start of January, I was hoping he'd keep it up and not regress to his previous mean. Instead, his performances seem like they're becoming even more dominating.

At this pace of improvement, he'll be at 57 PPG and 5.3 RPG (just kidding, love ya LMA) by the end of the season.

giving any weight at all to defense he's been the best PF in the league over the last 2 months. if he keeps this up for the duration he'll deserve to be 2nd team at worst. i've never paid attention to how political the sportswriter voting is. it might be possible that missing the all-star game will actually help him.

If his new baseline really is around 26/10, plus pretty good defense, he could become an MVP candidate in the coming years.

You got me curious, so there went another half-hour.

The record for points in 3 consecutive games, back to 1986-87

    116 Clyde Drexler...Dec. 20-23 1988...43, 38, 35
    115 LaMarcus Aldridge...Feb. 7-13 2011...42, 37, 36
    109 Kiki Vandeweghe...Dec. 9-12 1986...40, 31, 38
    109 Rasheed Wallace...Feb. 20-24 2001...42, 32, 35

I saw some interesting 4-game totals, too, but that's another day.

BRoy's a beast. I love these kinds of random, obscure stats.

The logical side of my brain wants to keep checking. I checked only individual games over 43, and only 3-game streaks in which every game was at least 30.

For all you matrix wizards, and I know there are plenty on this here genius board, how about a 3-D graph. The x-axis constraint is under 44, the y-axis is under 30, x+y+z is at least 108, and solve for z and then find a 3-game streak like that.

Now that I wrote down the problem, I can relieve my mind of it and stop thinking about it. Freud called it catharsis.
