    It was another flat home performance for the Wolves, who are 0-4 at Target Center in February and have lost those games by an average of 16.2 points. They've been hurting for fan support for several years, but the Target Center attendance on Monday night was glaring even by their standards.

    The Wolves announced a crowd of just over 11,000, but far fewer were actually in attendance. In the second quarter, seven fans were counted sitting in sections 218-224 of the upper level. Those sections wrap the back of the building from one corner to the other behind one basket.

    Here it is folks. Look at it. What you are looking at may be one of the most historical nights in NBA history. Tonight, against the Blazers, the Wolves ran out a starting perimeter rotation that racked up a combined total of 1 point, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, and 6 turnovers. That is truly amazing.

    Unfortunately, Basketball Reference doesn't allow for multiple player searches on its wonderful data safaris so I can't tell you if this is the only time in history 3 starting players have never made a field goal, but walk away knowing this: Your favorite team is awful and it may have just surpassed its previous awfulness with tonight's unbelievable nonsense. Repeat it to yourself: the Wolves just fielded a starting rotation where 3 players didn't do anything. Sean Marks, widely regarded as the worst player in the NBA, outscored the entire Wolves starting perimeter rotation. That is notable. That is disturbing. That is the story of tonight's game.

    Other items of note:

    The Blazers came out looking to destroy Kevin Love. They did it. While he ended up with a double double, he did so with cheaply assigned rebounds (I counted at least 2 rebounds that shouldn't have been counted) and nothing else at all. Tonight, he wasn't close to an All Star. Tonight, there was nothing real to cheer about. I'm one of the biggest Love fans out there but I'm done with the double/double streak. It's lipstick on a pig at this point.

    Well folks, that about does it. Something really amazing happened during tonight's game. The Wolves had 3 starters who didn't do jack shit and...well, there's no way to dress it up.

    So the Blazers might have just set a team defense record (and NBA defense record) against starting perimeter players . . . chalk up another victory for Nate's focus on defense.

    Have you seen Love's excuse for his numbers, I'm so not impressed with this guy:

    Love finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds, just barely extending his double-double streak to 41 games, the longest since Moses Malone had 44 in a row in the 1982-83 season. He only attempted seven shots and was outworked all night by Cunningham and Aldridge.

    “I did feel like they were coming at me,” Love said. “A lot of the time they were hitting rebounds out when they saw I could get a hand on it. But it wasn’t an advantage or disadvantage.”
