About to take over the 6th seed in the Western Conference . . . not bad considering everything that's happened this season.
win wed we could be in 5th (sort of, 5th best winning percentage even though technically 6th by tiebreaker)
With Camby (and Roy) coming back, and the Jazz and Nuggets both faltering as of late, I believe we can hold onto the 6th seed. Getting and holding onto the 5th seed seems less likely, though it would be a great goal for this team the rest of the way.
Amazing really. All the talk about Utah having a big season (although they too have been hit hard by injuries): Houston was suppose to make the playoffs and make some noise; Memphis GM or owner promising playoffs this year; Paul in his make or break year with NO; Denver with Carmello was suppose to be up there. Blazers unexpectedly missing thier best player and team leader . . . and losing (not so unexpectedly) GO. I think everyone around the league started to count out the Blazers. And now in 6th ahead of Denver team taht still has Carmello and basically tied with Utah and a chance to gain a game on NO before the all star break. At the begining of the seaon, if told no Roy, no GO and the usual injuries that occur during the season . . . only the true blazer manics put this team in the playoffs. And although there is a tough playoff race left for the blazers, it looks like the Blazers maniacs and their optomistic ways may be right in this situation.
it might not, the 5th seed lies just ahead Portland has won 66% of it's games without Roy. Only three teams in the West have a higher winning % then that STOMP
They've told the Blazers story already. it's why they've talked about Boston having injury issues, and Utah, but not much about Portland. The Blazers season has been pretty amazing, all things considered.
Is it just me or do NBA seasons keep going by faster and faster? Only 26 games left in the regular season
Don't know if it will, but they only stand to get better* when Camby and Roy return to upgrade the bench. *Offer void if Cho makes a trade to sacrifice wins this season for future value
