This guy has proven his weight in gold! He is rock solid stable, never injured and his assists and our teams chemistry is on! We are not going to get Paul, Rose, Rondo, Parker or Wall.... after that I see no one in the league or coming out of school that has what Dre does! Andre has saved this teams ass on a nightly basis. Yes he's older but look at his assists as of late, the whole team is now involved and there is movement, that is Dre!

Dre has two years easy left in him at the rate he's playing now, and that's not to shabby!

The problem is we're not winning anything in the next two years or while Dre will ever be a factor. The smart move is to trade him for a younger prospect that can help us with our rebuild/reload.

Agreed. Miller is one of the best point guards in the league, and probably the most underrated. I hope we don't trade him.

All I will say is that I hope Cho (and maybe more importantly Paul Allen) is thinking long term.

Don't misunderstand me. I love 'Dre. If our window were open, by all means I'd keep him, but I think we have to take a step back to take two steps forward in the future.

It's not like Miller is going to be the difference in us winning a title or not, so why not get an asset for him that might when we are ready to compete for a title again?

I think it's pretty clear that there are some people around here who are either incapable or unwilling to embrace the fact that this team might have to go back to the lottery days if they are to have any shot at being competitive on the other side of the lockout ... on the other hand if we hold on to guys like Miller, Camby and Joel and get nothing at all for them, we'll still end up in the lottery anyway, but with even less to show for it.

I absolutely get that. I've been around long enough to know how it works in the NBA. But I also think it's possible that Camby's return, plus Roy's, might allow us to do some real damage in the playoffs. Don't forget the way we handled San Antonio and Chicago recently. This team is not yet dead, and far from it.

With what we hear about Paul Allen wanting to make a push to the playoffs - I really doubt we will see Miller moved unless we can get someone like Devin Harris. It just does not seem to be in the cards.

My gut feeling is that there is a very good chance joel is moved, we are likely to lose some of the smaller/younger contracts (Babbit/Armon/Rudy/Marks/Dante) - and there is a chance we move Camby as well. I just do not think they will move Miller at this point in time.

He's getting 10- 14 assists a game! That is Nash, Kidd, Parker, Rose #'s! That said no one is saying let's get rid of Kidd or Nash cause of their age.... He may not be on a Nash or Kidd in his prime level but he's not that far off and way more durable. Dre also brings pure leadership out there, and knows when to attack the hoop and when to pass... Young prospects unless they are Wall, Rose talented will stunt this teams growth. There is no Wall or Rose right now available or coming out of school.

As for the let's get young prospects... great if we "are" looking at the next Wall or Rose... but our great young talent is now on the Twolves, Raptors and Nets...

This is a case where chemistry and what works is more important than draft picks.. IF ODEN comes back healthy next year this team is scary! Dre to LA and ODEN on a nightly basis would be wicked!

I think Yardape's point was that we might as well hold on to him because there is no one out there that we are going to get that is worth a damn that we can get for Miller. Sure if he brings in a young star PG it is worth the trade. But that is highly unlikely.

Yes we need a young PG but you might as well hold on to Miller too. He can mentor him. But who trades young PG's for old ones? It happens very seldom.

Bingo!!!! Pinwheel jackhammered that point! BTW- Let's take a look at the young PG's Portland has drafted over the years..... Bayless, Telfair, Johnson, Jack and Mills.... Non of these guys are starters or will be for years to come or if ever. Would you take any of these highly touted college players over Dre? Not even close!

I agree... I think Miller's still a good player, but by the time the team will be in a position to win anything, Miller will either be not-so-good or he'll be gone. I'd rather get assets for him if we can.

It comes down to what we can get, of course. I'm not going to say DO NOT TRADE ANDRE MILLER any more than I'm going to say TRADE ANDRE MILLER. It just depends on what we can get.

I'm sorry but the only PG anyone has discussed around here is Harris, and I for one don't think he's better than Dre. Anyone else not named Rose, Wall, Paul, Parker, Rondo or Westbrook is a downgrade in my eyes! We have won some games now and the team understands how to play pick and roll with Dre and LA, ya throw in Oden and if Batum can ever break the deer in the headlights scenario we will be a beast to match up against! We may need a backup bruiser at the PF but I say stick!

    Hello darkness, my old friend
This is pretty much my position on every player on the roster. It's a more boring position than "AT ALL COSTS, DO NOT TRADE" or "TRADE NO MATTER WHAT" but I think it's boring and correct. :)

There's also a huge component called Team Chemistry!!! I think this team is on the verge of finally having some! The ball is moving and everyone is getting involved. Dre looks comfortable out there for once and everyone looks excited to be on the court from Dante to Rudy....

You find me another PG not in the list I've already named doing a double/ double almost a night and I'm all ears..

Oh and one other thing to consider.... Unless we are talking about the next Rondo, Rose or Paul.... we better get a new coach cause Nate isn't real big on playing rookies, so Patty Mills will be the starter than? HMMMMMM!!!!
