I kinda just lost interest around 8th grade, but I do recall Wrestling days fondly from the late 80's to the late 90's. Bret Hart, Razor Ramon/Scott Hall, Diesel/Kevin Nash, Hogan, Piper, Hart Foundation, Legion of Doom/Roadwarriors, even John Tenta Earthquake were big names for me as a kid. Cool to see the Rock back though because I absolutely hate John Cena.
I always thought it was lame back when they pretended it was real. I never really watched back in the Hulkamania era. I started with WCW, back during the nWo angle, and then mainly WWF from like 98-02. Once Austin and the Rock left, I lost interest and followed from a distance. The last couple years I've barely followed at all. Now that the Rock is back, I will definitely try to watch again.
this is true of me as well.. honestly we didnt get cable until I was in High School so The HUlkamania time period while I remember it fondly, I was months behind as I watched PPV's on VHS from our local video store. It wasnt until NWO/Goldberg that I would go to my cousins each week and watch it religiously.
In the WWE, the "players" know who is going to win the "game" prior to even getting in the ring. Dumb analogy.

Here's thing thing with professional wrestling: yes, the outcomes are predetermined and all the fluff surrounding the matches is little more than acting, and it's not really a sport per se. Every WWE fan (well okay, except for the 1% who are indeed idiots) knows this, and you're right, in that sense the WWE is completely fake. With that said, however, what these wrestlers do to each other is very real. When they bleed, it's not fake blood (contrary to what some people think). There's nothing fake about jumping off the top rung of ladders, slamming people through tables, and hitting someone in the face with a chair. You're very ignorant if you can't see that. Also, that ring is not a nice, soft mattress: when you get slammed in that ring, it hurts. A lot. Injuries occur all the time, often devastating, and a number of moves are extremely dangerous (such as the Undertaker's "Tombstone Piledriver" finisher, which can easily break someone's neck if not executed correctly). But there's no question that the men and women who participate are tremendous athletes with very high tolerances to pain, and I have a ton of respect for them and their talents. Anyway, just making sure people who call it "fake" know the full story
Repped. I appreciate the background. I was watching it for sport and was disappointed to find out it was predetermined. After that, I focused on other actual sports.
You have to respect a guy who puts his body on the line like this Nothing fake about that
I honestly never had any interest in wrestling. I always thought it was stupid, and I didn't understand the fascination. It's a bunch of guys in tights throwing each other around.... rather watch boxing or MMA.
