Didn't really notice it during the game, but SportsCenter just highlighted it. It's obvious, because all of the Blazer players are going to the bench, and the coaches are coming out on the floor. Will Nate cry and quit tonight?
IT WAS AWESOME. Had the refs seen Nate and his entire coaching staff on the court while Dre passed half-court they would have called a T! How did you not see it, we showed it 5 times.
How did you not notice that during the game. They replayed it a couple of times and talked about it. Anyways, M&M said Nate looked at them, rolled his eyes and look down with a smile or something like that. Apparently Miller has the green light to waive off a coach's call.
I assumed the TO and put my oldest back in bed. No biggie. It's nice to see Nate give his vet that sort of flexibility. Perhaps Jerry Sloan was a bit too rigid for today's NBA, and just had an immediate implosion?
It was the highlight of the game, Papa. Only you see it as negative. Had you watched, you'd know that Wheels and Rice were absolutely delighted by Miller's trick to get an extra 2 points.
Where did I see it as a negative? I just wondered it Nate would pull a Sloan and throw a hissy fit and ultimately quit.
Of course it was planned, just like the 6 on 5 play that Nate drew up against the Celtics a couple years ago. Nate loves to cheat at the NBA level. Seriously though, I think Nate wanted the timeout and Dre was supposed to call it, but Miller saw that the Hornets were out of position and already taking the play off, ready to go towards their bench. So he just took advantage and faked a timeout and darted to the hoop for an easy lay-up. What a clever guy. And Nate was smirking afterwards. I loved this play!

Yeah, I doubt it was planned, but it was probably a purposeful decision by Miller based on the Hornets taking the time out for granted.
If Dre gets traded I'm really going to miss his old man game. It's too bad we did't trade for him 5 or 6 years ago (probably would have killed the Roy-Iso offense before it ever got started and who knows what LMA would have been able to do in the first couple years of his career)
What he said! I saw it on some highlights, but I'd like to see it again. I didn't get home until after 9pm last night and so I missed most of the game.
It's in the highlights from the NBA website: http://www.nba.com/video/games/blazers/2011/02/16/0021000835_noh_por_recap.nba/index.html Didn't Terry Porter do something like that?
