ESPN is reporting that the Nets and Nuggets have agreed on a deal for Anthony that is contingent on Anthony agreeing to an extension.
Espn is saying the nets owner is done chasing him updated at 1:47pm EST / 10:47 am PST source: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/news/story?id=6133683
That was Thursday. They had a breaking news link but it is not there now. I am on my phone so I couldn't link it.
I think he wants to be a KNICK though! How good can he be with the Nets? They wont beat the Celts or Heat so why do this without an Amare to team up with? He's basically recreating the Nuggets all over again as a Net!
Let's wait and see if they get him--and for how much--before we jump to that kind of conclusion. If they get him for less than was rumored a month or two ago? I'd say negotiations will have gone quite well for them. Ed O.
Sure. Brooklyn has better Russian food (no, really). Manhattan has better Japanese and Indian food. Bagels/Delis are 50/50 I would say.
He would live in the same place with either team, and he would eat and drink in the same places. But it still is a huge difference. Hell the atmosphere between the Lakers and Clippers is huge and they play in the same building.
The MSG is sort of a dump, from what I remember. They'll have a newer arena in Brooklyn. The only appeal the Knicks have is this sort of artificial legacy.
Brooklyn Nets brought to you by Jay Z and the Russian Mafia could be interesting!! Marketed correctly to Melo it could work! He could author this team and be Brooklyn's Hero! In Manhattan he'll be following the Knicks lore, but in Brooklyn he will be foundation of how the Brooklyn Nets are defined and he wont be Amare's sidekick! Giving someone a city much like OKC has done with Durrant might be enough for the Big Ego of Melo!
HERE IS THE DIFFERENCE FAMS!
For what it's worth I'm in my 40's and I can't remember the Knicks winning anything in my lifetime, this worship for the Knicks seems unwarranted and I don't understand it!
He'd be stupid to go to NY/Brooklyn. That team is not going to compete with Miami and Boston. Just wait it out and sign with NY or force a trade to LAL ;]
I see Stern working a deal between LAL and DEN like this: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=68v7ocx Denver would of course also have to send two unprotected 1st round picks to the L*kers as well.
