"NYK confident latest offer is respectable and could get done for Melo soon. DEN preferred Gallinari over Fields after being asked to choose. less than 20 seconds ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®" Supposedly Melo met with Knock ownership It's Felton/Chandler/Gallo/Curry/1st and for Melo/Billups.filler
If Anthony has basically set his mind on playing for the Knicks, then the deal is plausible. The only other option is for Denver to not trade him and let him go sign with the Knicks in the off-season. This deal, poor as it seems for a star, is better than literally nothing.
Melo may sign with Denver if they don't trade him, he doesn't want to leave the extension on the table. I think Denver would do the deal if Randolph and Fields were also thrown in but that is basically the entire NY team except for Amare.
doubt it. I think he will take less money to walk to NY and team up with amare im sure he could give a fuck about a mil or two a year for a chance at a ring
With endorsements he would get from being in NY he would probably make more money even if his new CBA contract was half of what he could get with signing with denver.
dunno if you guys saw it on TNT but Carmello and Amare came together to the Rookie game...then they had a little thing at center court during a halftime.
I dislike Stat and I freaking hate 'Melo. I didn't think much about the Knicks before, but they'd quickly become one of my most hated teams if Anthony went there.
sorta cool though, makes it a team that's just so easy to root against, and with what NYC is givin up they IMO have a good chance to never win a title, love to see them struggle and bicker and have that magnifiied in da big apple! lol
I don't really dislike any players in the NBA...I just don't evaluate them as people, since I have, and want, no personal relationships with them. So, from that perspective, a Knicks team with Stoudemire and Anthony would be fun to watch. Not anything resembling a contender, as they have no real defensive presence as a team and won't have much talent to surround Anthony and Stoudemire...but they should be a fun duo on the offensive end.
Yeah I have similar sentiments. Although I wouldn't mind seeing him in NY or NJ, just because he would be a bigger threat in LA.
