What do you think of him? He was part of the 3 guard system back at Villanova. Hes a good shooter with NBA range, has the ability to drive and draw the contact and is good coming off screens. However, he is an undersized 2 guard and doesn't have the passing or vision to play the point. Also, his defense can be a liability, he is small and isn't strong enough to handle the guards in the NBA.I see him as a late second rounder, how do you think he will do in the NBA?
Wow, way to copy NBAdraft.net yet again. He's a good offensive player but otherwise nothing special, he is what he is, could be a good scorer off the bench or flop out of the league.
I wasent aware of their comparison. I watched Luther Head play a ton of basketball. I saw Allan Ray play quite a bit in the NCAA Tournament. They are the same basically. Great range, undersized, ability to create at times, not all that strong, neither posses PG skills that can run a team.
Thats pretty much what the NBADRaft.net profile says about him, good job paraphrasing.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>NBA Comparison: Luther HeadStrengths: A pure shooter with range out to NBA 3 point ... Good first step, strong one on one skills ... Adept at creating shots for himself and also strong at catch and shoot ... Has excellent ball handling ability ... Has a knack for creating contact and drawing fouls where he capitalizes on his superb free throw shooting ... Good athlete with nice leaping ability ... Uses screens well ... Good on ball defender due to his quick feet ... His great ability to shoot should allow him to be a scoring role player in the NBA ... Weaknesses: An undersized 2 guard ... His ability to fill in as a point is limited due to his poor vision and passing ... Negative assist to turnover ratio, his point guard skills are below average ... Solid defender but not outstanding ... Not a physical player, lacks the strength to overpower defenders that his teammates possess ... His lack of sizep and strength makes him a defensive liability on the next level ... Off the ball defense is just average, not good at anticipating passes for steals ...Notes: Came into Villanova a top 50 recruit and has had a tremendous career on his way to scoring over 2000 points.-Aran Smith 1/19/06</div><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I wasent aware of their comparison. Anyone who watches Allan play knows he is1. A good shooter2. Does not have good vision and isn't a good passer3. A good dribbler4. Not very strongI don't care if Jamez used that site or not but this isn't the thread for that.

I've seem him play, therefore I know what kind of player he is. Case closed.
I don't see Ray going very soon in the 2nd round. I haven't been folowing him really but it appears he's been falling on nbadraft and draft expresses mock so Im thinking his stock must be falling a bit. I think he'll go around 45-55 pick. As how he'll do in the NBA I think he might become a decent shooter off the bench. Maybe the 7th or 8h man at best.

The fact that he used the same comparison and the same points in the scouting report as they went down...looks obvious to me.
Maybe we got another Gilbert Arenas situation here in the draft. He is predicted to be selected in the beginning of the 2nd round, right where Arenas was. He reminds me of Arenas, all the descriptions that Heatfan32 listed of his game just makes me think of Arenas. He might not be as good as Arenas in his NBA career, but he'll certainly have a solid career because of his shooting.

Plus hes expected to go mid or late 2nd round, not early 2nd round. The best I see this guy being is a decent shooter off the bench.
the only thing I care about Allan Ray is if the Sonics draft him or not. I want the to draft him in the 2nd round so they could have the duo of.............................RAY ALLEN and ALLAN RAY wahhhh.

They have similar shooting mechanics, but this kid is no A.I., I doubt Ray will do much in the NBA, his defense is awful and he's tiny.

But I would like to see him go to Phoenix. They can use a young shooter like him. He can develop a lot especially with nash there to guide him in the right direction.
