I saw something about Philly might be interested in trading Iguodala. Here's my idea:
Iguodala, Jrue Holiday and Mariesse Speigts for Joel, Batum, Matthews and Armon Johnson.

Of course hate to give up Batum and Matthews but this deal makes us a lot better right now (better sf and better backup PG who could be PGOTF and better backup PF) and not really much older so it shouldn't hurt us much in the future. I would like this deal better if I knew Roy was coming back healthy, as i think we would miss Matthews more than we would miss Batum.
Philly would get rid of Iggy's contract and get younger (but still experienced) players.

I love Iggy and Jrue holiday has been a player i'v had a man crush on for the last 2 years. The thing I really don't like about this trade is its giving up our two best defenders for iggy and were still left with Miller when we would have our PGOTF in Holiday. I'd rather only give up Mathews or Batum for iggy not both.

Well, it's not really Matthews and Batum for Iggy; it's Mathews and Batum for Iggy AND Holiday and actually i think Holiday might be the more valuable piece; in fact I might not want to give up EITHER of Mathews or Batum for Iggy alone. I'd like to keep Miller as starter at least for this year and then let them fight it out for starter next season.

Holiday is a stud, and I honestly don't think Philly would trade Holiday for Batum, Matthews and Johnson, let alone include Iggy and Speights.

I actually have never seen him play, but if he is really all that, then we should definitely try to get him. Another deal that would work and that would really save Philly a ton of money would be including Brand in there. This would be Pryzbilla, Miller, Matthews, Batum, Mills, plus Marks and Dante to make the salaries match. they would probably release Dante if we wanted him back. Realistically I don't think this is the kind of trade that ever happens; good young talent for good young talent is too scary for GM's, I think. And I don't really want to give up Matthews and Batum, and I don't want to trade Miller right now. So maybe our best alternative is trying to find a guy a guy like Holiday or Ty Lawson (drafted 17 and 18) or Beaubois (25th) in the draft? I always thought that was KP's greatest failure, not doing that.

He found Batum and Rudy down there, but until we actually see Koponen, Freeland and Claver all play against NBA competition, the verdict is out. He certainly missed on Sergio.

I think adding a guy like Holiday would be fantastic, and he is probably much more of a sure thing than a guy in the draft......although on the surface there seems to be some guys who could help us in the middle part of the draft

Most of our biggest holes can be fixed by bringing over those said picks in europe. Freeland is tearing it up and is in the talk for the euro mvp and "should" be able to handle a 15-20m NBA rotation at PF/center. Koponen has shown he can run a team over seas. Might as well bring in experienced guys and try and trade our draft picks for a veteran player then take a shot in this weak draft.

In theory they could help, but while their leagues might be slightly better than the D league, remember what our guys did down there. Babbitt and johnson have both tore up the D league and can't get off the bench in the NBA

While Freeland shows potential - it should be noted that Splitter that actually did win a Spanish supercup MVP and was Euroleague first-team selection has not shown too much so far in the NBA.

You can never tell how these guys translate... Rudy was fantastic in Europe but has not got to where Manu did (Manu's accomplishments in Europe were much better than Rudy's).

As for Petteri - with the Blazers problems getting PGs and their reluctance to bring him over - I suspect that closer look has shown them that maybe he is not that great a propsect...

Melo is the tripwire. When that gets decided, several other pieces fall quickly.
