http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/...t=AnbL7Hgc9Od_fu6yCQGMcJO8vLYF?urn=nba-324641 All of our big trade chips save Miller (camby/rudy/prz) all say they may retire if traded. We have a hard time attracting FA but when they come here they want to stay.
Fuck our players. This is a God damned business, and all they are doing is causing our team to get worse by refusing to man up and earn the millions they were given by acting unprofessional
It's actually a selling point for a team like the Nets since once Joel retires they don't owe him any money. He is only there for cap relief regardless so more immediate cap relief seems like it would be more attractive. And Joel won't retire if he goes to a contender, only if he goes to a shit team.
I kind of feel like a lot of times when we bring people here they stop thinking it is a business. We can't lure top free agents here but when we do they want to be here, so to trade them upsets them. I get that. There are very few places that offer the support our fanbase does and that's why people like Camby sign extensions. I don't hate on any of these guys for wanting to call it quits after playing in such a great place.
I look at it the other way. It makes traded players want to be here and teams that are acquiring our players for salary slots are relieved of some cash. Win-win.
For those of us that would like Joel back, is there anything better than trading him, having him agree to a buyout from another team and then re-signing him?
Yeah, fuck him MM. because god knows Joel is key to the Nets rebuilding process and if he refuses to play for them (and retires instead) they'll be seriously pissed!!!!!11!
Joel could be one of those pieces that's simply waived after the deal, allowing him to return to the team after a few weeks.
I'd think any team that wants to acquire Przybilla wants him to retire. Its a God damn business decision, not a basketball decision. I take it your 'scout friend' hasn't told you about this yet?
