Word is Bulls have NOT abandoned hope of striking deal for OJ Mayo and now have one more first-round pick to peddle after James Johnson deal

League exec who has spoken with Bulls says Bulls are still talking to Grizz regarding Mayo. Says isn't close but still talking.

Sometimes you have to admit failure, and when you need to do this, the earlier the better.

JJ was a failed pick in much the same way as Sefolosha was. Not that he can't make it in the league (Thabo certainly has), but that he doesn't serve the team's needs in the way they had hoped (Thabo never became the big point you could pair with Gordon).

I'm sure that the Bulls are looking to deal right now and a very late first-rounder is viewed as a more desirable asset than JJ...this offers another team the opportunity to make their own mistake rather than accepting ours.

Again, when you make a mistake, acknowledge it and move on. The minus on the Bulls FO was written down on this already. This is a plus.

I like the Wayne Ellington idea. Anyone got any info on him? Last time I checked his stats he was shooting the 3 better than OJ, he's also taller and I've heard of him handling the ball in Minny as well.

I always figured Wayne Ellington at his max as Allan Houston like ( one or two cuts below a prime Allan Houston )
