I'm not upset to have Miller as our PG for the rest of the season - and maybe even going forward. But the Blazers REALLY need some front court help this year! It doesn't take a big move, but it seems like we'd be able to use Joel's expiring to get us some more production at the 4-5. Yahoo mentioned Boris Diaw...

    SpearsNBAYahoo Marc J. Spears
Charlotte made inquiries about Deron Williams before Nets got him. Bobcats trying to be aggressive on trade market. Keep eye on Boris Diaw.

I think he'd be perfect. Would Joel and a pick get it done? Maybe one of our rookies? $$$?

We've been so held up with these possible big deals, but I think a smaller deal could help the most right now.

Joel will continue to improve the more he plays. He's still shaking off the rust and learning to trust his knee. By playoff time, we should see something close to the old Przy.

Maybe. Maybe not. The front court help is coming next year.

For 5 games. Then we'll be left wondering again.

Do you really think so, or are you just trying to convince yourself? Up to this point, he's looked REALLY bad since he's be back. I'm not convinced he will ever be close to the "old Przy". That's why I think we should move him if we can.

I'm not giving up on him yet. He's the one chance we have to become an elite team.

He's 13 months into an 18 month recovery. If you've ever had a knee injury and then went back to playing, the last obstacle is the mental one. You can see the uncertainty in Przy's movements. Joel won't be what he was, but he'll be a servicable backup who can still lay a devastating pick and take up room in the post.

I understand the need for fans to protect themselves from yet another potential disappointment. I think he dominates next year and plays 70+ games...then we lose him as a UFA.

Yes but at the same time, by the time that 18 month recovery is over, his career will pretty much almost be over. Hell it already almost is, you can hear it in the interviews with Joel if you listen to what he says, he talks more about retirement now when you never heard it before.

I've been fortunate to never have any knee problems (knocks on wood), so I can't really relate. I have had my share of ankle sprains though. I hope you are right, although by the time he's back to his old self he'll be on his way out of town (to Milwaukee?).

If he plays 70+ games of dominating ball next year, we will undoubtably have a pretty successful season and he may not want to go elsewhere as a UFA. The fans will love him, PA will open up the checkbook, and all will be well in the world.

We have needed front court help since Jeff Pendergraph went out. But Sean Marks is apparently the answer. I don't want to know what question Cho was asking. But apparently when doing his calculcations to determine which player to bring on board, it chose Marks. He probably used the same math to figure out how long it was going to take for Camby to come back.

Cho went binary here. He thought Marks was a 10. Unfortunately, Marks is decimal. He is only a 2.

Cho changed tactics here. He went decimal. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication and Camby thought we are now binary, so he went for 11.

Either way, 5 more weeks for Camby's return.

The team desperately needs frontcourt help. One problem is, a large chunk of the fans seems to have some emotional attachement to Dante and Joel. Bringing in a Biedrins, Wallace, or Speights type player might help the team, but there might be a fan backlash. Just another excuse to stand pat. :dunno:
