I am willing to guess those people are the camels handlers, not the Daily Show producers. Also the whole situation started with the animal getting its foot caught in the metal fencing and I am willing to bet the camel was from someplace close by and was quite used to the snow.

He was slipping because his foot got caught in the metal fence. If you watched the other videos you would have noticed that the Camel had no problem until the leg got stuck.

Umm people, Camels live in extremely cold areas too. Camels live in places that get well below freezing and do absolutely fine. They don't only live in the desert. Some camels are built for places like WI. And yes, as as westnob said, penguins also live South America.
