Re: UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones (Mar. 19th) I think Jones dominates Shogun--but I just don't feel right counting out Shogun.

Re: UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones (Mar. 19th) Welcome to a new Era at 205. I dont see anyone taking that title from him.
Re: UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones (Mar. 19th) I just check out Sherdog. People are going crazy making excuses and trying to discredit Jone's win. I'm a Shogun fan - but he just flat got beat tonight. Big props to Jones.
Re: UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones (Mar. 19th) The Machida Era, right Joe Rogan? JJ looked amazing. Rashad Evans is going to get his shit pushed in.

Re: UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones (Mar. 19th) Jones looked incredible. He is way ahead of the division. Kind of strange that we're getting basically one standout per division these days with Aldo, GSP, Silva, and now Jones. I don't know who can touch him. And this isn't like Machida--Jones has the physical tools and size advantage to go along with his unique and so far unstoppable skill set. The sky is the limit for him. Shogun looked overwhelmed. Dunno how much the long layoff and knee problems hurt him--seemingly a lot but that might but the way his career is from now on. He isn't the fighter he was five, seven years ago, but who is? No excuse for him though as he took the fight. A rematch with Forrest Griffin might be interesting. The next contender is Rashad Evans who doesn't look to have much to offer Jones. His wrestling is good but probably not at JJ's level. His striking is going to be inferior and he is giving up a lot of size and reach. Seems like a really bad match-up for him. I don't know who else is in line--perhaps Phil Davis--but right now the gap between Jones and the rest of the division seems wide. Guess he should defend his title once before we get too carried away, though. Everything else that happened tonight will be overshadowed by Jones' dominance but there were a couple more good fights. Jim Miller continues to impress, Marquardt and Faber rode out decisions, and Cane got back on the winning track against a totally outmatched opponent. Barboza/Njokuani was excellent and Koch's knockout was pretty nice. The Cro Cop fight was familiar. Another lights-out KO from a blow he would've been able to absorb earlier in his career. He's now been badly knocked out four times in the UFC and has wins over guys that have been cut or middle of the pack heavyweights. Dunno where he goes from here. Schaub didn't exactly light Cro Cop up aside from some ground work but he will move up the ladder a bit anyway.
