The best thing for the Sixers organization would be to rebuild.

Sixers fans always seem to blame everyone but Iverson. Its either the coaches fault of his supporting cast's fault. I used to hear every day at my school "Iverson needs a second option" Iverson has had plenty of second options and NONE of them have worked out. Is it a coincidence or is Iverson the problem? Over the years he has had Tim Thomas,Chris Webber,Keith Van Horn,Larry Hughes,Glenn Robinson,Derrick Coleman, ectAll those guys are viable second options. However with Iverson it didnt seem to work.He also had his share of solid role players as well:Aaron McKieGeorge LynchRaja BellKenny ThomasBruce BowenSpeedy ClaxtonEric SnowMatt HarpringJumaine JonesTyrone HillTheo RatliffMatt GeigerBrian SkinnerRodney RogersDikembe MutomboI know I am forgetting some but this is off the top of my head and I am too lazy to go look it up.Are you guys sure its not Iverson you should be blaming?

The Sixers problems:1. Billy King is in the race for worst GM of the league.2. Dalembert can't catch a ball3. Iggy needs to be more agressive.Iverson isn't the problem, just yesterday I was watching game 1 of the 2001 finals and thinking to myself, Iverson is such a warrior.

Derrick Coleman was nearing the end of his career, Robinson was fading, Van Horn was just bad, Tim Thomas was bad, Hughes was always injured....come on Ballah, poor argument.

BALLAHOLLIC.............Your so wrong AI never had a true #2 guy. I agree with BCB. They finally got Webber, but after his prime. He is on one leg, old, and plays no D any more. This is far from AI's fault. Billy King knows how to build around AI with D, and rebounding he did not do that. Send AI to Minny to play with KG watch what they will do if the other guys can just be solid rebound, and play D.It does look like AI will end up being traded. And I hope he goes to Minny so people would stop finally saying it was AI who was the problem. Once he shows that he can set guys up, and he is not a ball hog. It was just that our guys would always pass the ball right back, and be afraid to shoot the ball.

Well if you decide to build around AI, you won't have much success...

Billy King is a sad excuse for a GM...trades for Webber when he has a huge contract and Webber is just stat padding...Signs the most overrated player in the league in Dalembert to a $60 million dollar deal, they aren't developing Iguodala, has never drafted anything worth playing, does nothing in FA....Allen Iverson is stuck just like Kevin Garnett, great player with a bad organization.

When you sign average FA's and draft busts for 10 years, how can you say you can't build around Iverson?

Well, first and foremost he didn't fit Larry Brown's system, even though Brown traded Van Horn (number two pick) for him. Thomas was traded 17 games into his second year in the NBA... and that was a deal for one of Brown's all-time favorite players: Tyrone Hill. Thomas at such a young age is not a "viable" second-option. Hell, he STILL isn't a viable second-option even with the way he played with Phoenix.Larry Hughes... this was one guy I wish we never dealt, but it was easy to see why he was dealt. He played only fifty games in his rookie season, and he averaged 9 points a night on 41% shooting. The fact that we traded him for Toni Kukoc sucks, but Hughes at such a young age was not a viable second-option.Keith Van Horn... he was soft. He was supposed to post-up on the block from time to time, and give us offensive production from the low-post, but he played soft offensively -- shooting mainly jumpers -- and was absolutely atrocious defensively. Easy to see why Brown got rid of him. Decent second option, but nothing great and worthwhile, especially with Brown as the coach.Glenn Robinson... he played well with Iverson when he was healthy. Glenn Robinson missed 40 games the one year he played with Philly, and then refused to play the following year for the Sixers because Iguodala beat him out for the starting spot. Anyways, when Iverson plays 48 games that season, and Big Dog plays only 42... you tell me how that's supposed to work out.Chris Webber is a viable second option, and it HAS worked between Webber and Iverson. Iverson is the main reason why Webber is averaging 20 points. The reason the team's record wasn't up to the level everybody expected this year was because of the lack of support they had, and the Sixers' awful team defense. But, it is safe to say that Iverson and Webber HAVE coexisted. As for that other list... two of those guys were young (Speedy and Raja), yet still contributed valuably. Ratliff was a great part of the team, until he broke his hand and we traded him for Mutombo. Mutombo was great for us, but was getting up there in age. McKie and Hill weren't all THAT special on the floor, but provided valuable leadership for us.The funny thing is, 9 of the players on that list of yours were on the Sixers' roster when they went to the Finals. So, what's the point of saying that they didn't play well alongside Iverson?EDIT: At this point... the Sixers need to make a major decision. Are they willing to throw away the future of the team (whatever that may be) in order to make an ATTEMPT at winning now? I don't think it's worth it... but we'll see what they think.

You cant just assume that if a player is decent now or was decent that if he didnt work in Philly it was automatically because of Iverson.

Allen Iverson has never had a #2 option until really now. We have Webber, but he is slowing down, and can't play defense. If Iguodala would be more aggresive, than we would have a great chance for a run to the playoffs. I'm not really sure who we should draft this year. Unfortunately, i don't see any big trades coming this off-season. Billy King sucks.
