Very true! Larry Miller used to be president of the Jordan brand at Nike before went on to be the VP of Basketball and then to the Blazers. I'm sure they have a close relationship that extends far before their current positions. Hopefully it will work out. I don't have faith at this point but I'd love to see it. I can imagine that Paul Silas doesn't want to have the team which he's turned into semi-respectibility blown completely up.
Like I said earlier, MJ wants this deal more than Portland. CHA needs to shed salary and they're hoping not to make it too obvious. We hold firm. Wallace isn't the player he was a couple of years ago and his style of play wasn't built for the long haul. MJ understands if it's hard to move Wallace now, wait until his game declines further. Then he'll have to move him as an expiring.
He is called the Godfather after the pizza place. Some people think it is cool, until the sample his offering. Some find them to be uninspiring, mushy and made with little care or pride. On the other side, if you buy some of his offers, you get some more for free.
STEIN_LINE_HQ: One source says CHA insistence on Batum stalled GWallace-to-Portland talks. Blazers been telling teams all year that Batum CAN'T be had
I don't think the Blazers had any intention of ever including Batum....so it sounds to me like the Bobcats discussed a non-Batum deal, then decided to ask for Batum in the end. Hopefully they will cave in the next 2:40, but it doesn't look promising. Can't get mad at Cho for trying....it takes two to trade
Charlotte "We want Batum" Us "We could have had Gwallace for Batum when It was Batums rookie season and GWallace was still a star so... what does that tell you our answer will be?"
If giving up Batum for Wallace was the only way to get Wallace, I'm glad we don't have Wallace. Ed O.
